Star Wars 4K77 - Regraded - No DNR (Released)
Time

Hey Sanjo,

These look great. Thank you for your efforts.

I’ve been watching v1.4 and I wanted to ask you something about that grading. On my TV (Samsung plasma, 48inch) it looks quite dark, eg very little is discernible during the Jawas kidnapping R2D2 scene.

I’m just wondering if this is to do with my TV or if this was an aspect of the print v1.4 was taken from?

Thanks
Scot

Thank you.

To whom should I speak re sound restoration help? I’m keen to get involved. I have already emailed Williarob.

I see there are extensive choices of audio for 4K77. What about the other movies, do they need volunteers?

Also, do you have the link for a non-DNR version of all three movies?

Thanks,
Scot (aka S53Dp70 on Resilio).

Wow, these look beautiful. Thank you for your incredible efforts, TR2N.

I would like to help. I am a professional sound designer, editor and mixer working in the industry (not Disney) and I would like to offer any assistance you might need in sound restoration of any kind.

Like you, I believe the OT is too important a cultural phenomenon to be tampered with. Or rather, let Lucasfilm do all the tampering it wants but allow the fans to have a choice.

So, if there’s any help you need with re-mixing, balancing, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Also, are you happy to share the download for 4k77?

Thanks,
Scot the Scot.

The Sounds of Star Wars
Time

Hi folks,

I’m a complete newbie to this site but not to Star Wars. In fact, I was 7yrs old when I went to the pictures with my dad to see it for the first time. It is not hyperbole to say that evening changed my life.

I’m a sound designer and composer and I can safely say I was inspired into both fields by Star Wars OT. I remember the Making of… documentary on TV and was utterly amazed at the bit where Ben Burtt was collecting all these incredible sounds from very ordinary, everyday things. It was utterly transformative.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. 👋🏻

Scot the Scot.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh, and who or what were the Whills?
Time

Hi folks,

I’ve just joined up. A friend told me about this project and I was so excited. He had a 4k Download and we watched it in his home cinema. Oh, my giddy aunt. I felt like I was 6yrs old again (no prizes for guessing how old I am, then.) It was a very special experience to to re-live Star Wars in the same way I did when I first saw it: the unaltered cut, the film grain, the natural unboosted colouring. Fantastic.

I do have a question, though: has anybody seen the first cut that was screened to Brian de Palma and Spielberg, the cut that was so bad George had to almost go back to the drawing board?

Two questions! And who were the Whills?
