***The MeBeJedi feedback thread ***

Got a question: what's the original resolution (in pixels) of an LD ? Is it 720 x 480 like a normal NTSC DVD ? or is it higher ? or lower ?

Anyways, what you're doing almost sounds too good to be true, now get of your lazy ass and get a dual-layer burner so you can do all kinds of extra things with your version and make it truly unique. So far you seem to be doing rather well in achieving just that ;-)

PS. Will you be using the orginal Fox opening logo and Lucasfilm Ltd. at the beginning of the movie too for your approximation of the 1977 version of Star Wars ?

STAR WARS DVD Producer Van Ling answers the tough questions!

MeBeJedi really makes truly valid points to me, even though I never doubted the movies were his (Lucas) to begin with. One thing in the "new" set cracked me up though. Lucas claims the OT doesn't exist anymore ... then where the hell and how the hell did they get the original opening crawl for Star Wars (the 1977 version !) in such good quality for the "Empire of Dreams" documentary ? ...

PS. MeBeJedi ... any thread I should check to read more about those rips you are apparenty doing ?

EDIT: No Longer needed, thanks!

Had to take the covers down till next month ... over 5GB of bandwith in 1 day ... I can't afford that kind of heavy load to the server, sorry.

You're absolutely right ... if and when I find a replacment it taes about 2 minutes to actually replace the picture

Thx for the corrections, will be making em on the covers as soon as possible.

Very nice work indeed, Scara. They look awesome. Any possibility for a different image on the back of ANH (minor nitpicking)? Keep up the good work and welcome to the boards.

If I had one at high resolution I'd definately use it ... but that's exactly what the problem is: I don't have any (others) for ANH. This one wasn't my first choice either ... but well untill something better comes along this'll have to do, same goes for ESB ... although that one is good quality.

Absolutely amazing work , Scara. Thank you for posting these for us to use.

Please don't take this the wrong way, because these are incredible, but I did notice a few grammatical errors..

ANH - "realises" (european spelling?), "to be taken care off"

ESB - "in search off Jedi Master Yoda"

ROTJ - The first paragraph is one really long run-on sentence

Again, I'm not trying to diminish what you have done, because they kick total ass, I'm just trying to help you make them as perfect as they can be.

Would you believe over a dozain people have checked that synopsis for errors and none of them spotted those ?

you are a master of your trade...
hope to see more of your work in the future!

Well actually there's quite a bit of it out there already. Non-Star Wars related though ... don't see much use in making x-different sets ... as if it ain't hard enough for people to decide which ones to use as it is. There are however about 20 or so covers pending in this series ...

Link works fine for me.

PS. What I posted didn't need any explication IMO and it wasn't direct to anyone in particular.

EDIT: My server-host just notified me some changes were made to the server system and because of them the server IP changed, so all you have to do is wait for your ISP's DNS records to be updated.

Link to the single width case covers:
SW-Singles.rar

It's one rar file containing all 5 covers.
Will post a link for the boxset covers later on.

EDIT: SW-Boxsets.rar

Enjoy !

PS. Be sure to put the seperate covers in the correct order (from 1 to 6, not 6 to 1) since the background texture is continuous, not repeating, so it should line up nicely when put together.

PS2. Plz keep em to yourselves, just give people the link if they want the cover instead of uploading them somewhere else. Thx.

Is that the glare off of the plastic of the DVD case, or is that chrome actually shiny?

The printout preview posted is what you get when printing the cover on silver foil-like paper or on a transparent placed in front of a silver / chrome like background. Because of the reflective nature of the material they're printed on it's almost impossible to get a good shot of what they look like when printed out. It really looks good though.

The boxset spines ligned up:

I'll make arrangements so you can dowload em. Just keep em to yourself ;-)
