Technically, yes there is multichannel support in our hardware design. However, in the current firmware (beta) there is no support to record it – or rather playback it because what gets recorded is not played back properly because its multichannel instead of 2-channels as expected. That support must still be created for the player application. This should be available at release.
does the wizram or the new avermedia support mulitchannel audio?

When I am sending 1080p from my sony STB, i cant record 5.1 audio its all distorted and the clock speed is 47hz and not a constant 48khz
when i drop down to 720p i can record 5.1 audio fine.
Im using the stock skydigital recorder, might there be a better software option that records 1080p with 5.1
