Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

2.1 is looking good! In the 2nd screenshot you can see more details on the escape pod since it's not blown out now. In addition to the reduced green, the 4th screenshot looks more natural without that digital harshness. I'm hoping this new render gets rid of the compression artifacts by the stormtrooper's head when Vader enters the Tantive IV and some of the shots in the droid sale scene. Can't wait for the new version.

I've made an AVCHD disc and I really can't tell any difference. Altho, I was watching the MKV on my 17" computer screen and the AVCHD on my 54" plasma.

BTW: It took my old computer 23+ hours to convert the MKV to AVCHD. Best 23+ hours of my old computers life!

I thought the difference would be seen in Harmy's forthcoming AVCHD encoding from the lossless source. Since you created the AVCHD from the encoded mkv, it will still have the compression artifacts.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Adywan,

Good to hear that you're sticking with SD. Although I'm an HD junkie and don't rent DVDs anymore, I also realize that you'd be seriously limiting the amount of footage you could reuse. I originally watched ANHR blown up on a 100" screen and the quality was better than I thought it'd be. Maybe someday when Lucas passes on and his heirs release the OOT in HD you'll get a chance to do revisited in HD.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time
Adywan,
First off, thanks for star wars revisited. I lurked on this site for a while when it started and donated to the X0 project. I just wanted the originals back. But after some recent visits I noticed your thread near the top with a lot of traffic. I didn't think an edit was what we needed but since everyone liked yours I thought I'd give it a shot. I gotta say I was blown away. I was expecting an amateurish edit with bad desktop cg, but everything exceeded my expectations. After writing off the saga thanks to the prequels and Lucas's odd agenda, I'm a fan again. This is what the SE should have been. I'm sure everyone here thought they were a fan of the movies until they saw your version. We all got schooled.
So now we're anticipating your version of ESB. I don't want to offer any suggestions but I would like to help out. If you'd accept donations to buy yourself a new monitor, I would gladly contribute.

Well it looks like i've got hell of a lot of reading to do this weekend and a lot of things to be answered too. That'll have to wait until either later tonight or tomorrow. Just got so many things on this weekend and not enough time to do it all. On top of that my monitor is being an ass and playing up so looks like i've got to save up for a new one.

anyway here's a much longer preview (just under 9 mins & just under 80mb). Again its split screen and this contains 4 of the scenes that show just how horrible the 2004 colours actually are, plus some new tweaks (see if you can spot them ). the problem with doing these split screens is that the blue tint to the 2004 dvds seems to eliminate the blue tones in the revisited version a bit. oh well.

NEW 9MIN PREVIEW
