His surname surfaced at the same time as the vid did but must have bee supressed or forgotten, perhaps some sneaky bugger deleted the Jedi archives (easy to do seeing as how there's no paper books left, I'd have much rather seen Stormtroopers burning old Jedi texts... but I'm way off on a tangent now.)

The poor kid's name is Ghyslain Raza from Canada. He had to drop out of school because of the attention. It's still funny though.

Yeah Takeshi's Castle is great fun.

You should check out Takeshi Kitano's seriously violent films like Brother, HanaBi (Fireworks), Violent Cop and Zatoichi. He's a fantastic director and storyteller.

He's also known as 'Beat' Takeshi when he performs standup but I've never seen any of his standup stuff. He's also a prolific writer.

I wish I could say that I remember when the sex was dirty and the air was clean but those two have been switcherooed for longer than I can recall.

My generation had Disco and Punk. The Fourth Doctor. A fear of the water based on a certain film. The deaths of Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Jim Henson to deal with. The Mad Max trilogy and the revitalised Aussie film industry. The one true Superman thanks to Christopher Reeve, Richard Donner and Mario Puzo. American Werewolf In London, Ghosbusters, The Evil Dead, Back to the Future. My generation remembers V. My generation remembers when Brian Cox was Michael Mann's 'Hannibal Lekter'. We had "We Are The World" and "Heal The World", the stupefyingly rediculous and moronic 'Star Wars' weapons platform in orbit program, the breaking reports of Chernobyl, getting up early in the morning to watch the space shuttle Challenger launch only to be transfixed in horror, the end of the Cold War, Gaza, Shiites, Muslim fundamentalists versus Christian fundamentalists in a battle to the death of us all, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Space Race. Slashers in the form of Leatherface, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Charles 'Chucky' Lee Ray and the deconstruction and revitalisation of the genre thanks to Kevin Williamson. Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice. Thalidomide, AIDS, HIV, corporate greed and globalisation, stolen elections, terrorism and neocons erecting a Theocracy where once stood a great nation built on the ideals of Freedom and Liberty for ALL. Remakes of films we saw in theatres on their first run plus remakes of bad political decisions such as the stupefyingly rediculous and moronic 'Star Wars' weapons platform in orbit program. Two times the Bush two times the Gulf War and two times the terror. LPs to CDs to DVDs, the introduction of home microwaves, BBS and the internet. My generation also has the ability to remember when rap meant something and when the right to political expression was free and available to all. We remember when music had lyrics and not just sampled and stolen beats from better songs for credibility.

My generation remembers watching Star Wars in the cinema and we remember the film as it was and always should be not as it is now.

Rick McCallum is one of the world's best Line Producers but he is no Producer.

Jerry Bruckheimer is a Producer

Gale Anne Hurd is a Producer

GARY KURTZ is a Producer.

In a nutshell a Line Producer makes sure everything gets done on time and and to budget while negotiating other locations in the shooting schedule when things go pear-shaped. Rick McCallum is extraordinarily capable in this role but to be a producer you have to have these skills plus the skills of a creative talent. (Good) Producers are the glue that hold a project together, they can offer helpful suggestions on shots, character, story, location, Actors etcetera. A good producer is sometimes more responsible for a finished film than the Writers or Director/s. In the case of large studio films where the producer shepherds the project through all stages of development he or she is often more integral and less replacable than the chosen director.

In this sense George Lucas is the real producer these days having stepped up his role from Executive Producer on the OT after he parted ways with the enormously talented Gary Kurtz. (Seriously if Kurtz had produced the PT film no-one would have any complaints.)

But the credits on LFL films have always been iffy as GL's not a member of the DGA or the WGA and so can choose to create credits or omit them at will. This is the case with the writing credits on ANH as much as with yes-man McCallum's overblown position.

By the way if anyone doubts that Gary Kurtz would have saved the Prequel Trilogy from farce and the weight of its own hubris then they are either ill-informed or just plain kidding themselves.


Now onto Superman, the latest casting rumour appears to have one-time Superman contender Jude Law taking over from Terence Stamp as General Zod, (or perhaps a relative? Gog??)

I assume we're talking about 'Star Wars' comics here, coz if not then I'm gonna say The Walking Dead is my favourite sereis at the moment.

But if we're talking Star Wars then I liked Star Wars Tales quarterly until the revamp, it sucks now, but it was awesome before.

I'd like to see more of the Infinities line focusing on Infinities versions of The Prequels, you know like "What If... The Prequels were good films?".

I also want to see more Manga adaptations of the films. They released the OT and TPM but so far no sign of AOTC or any indication of ROTS, I guess the Nihon artists give about as much of a crap as I do these days.

Dark Empire I was good and the Zahn books made great comics, as did Splinter Of The Mind's Eye.

So far Underworld : The Yavin Vassilika has been my absolute favourite series for art and story. Carlos Meglia rules.

All of the early Tales Of The Jedi were cool I just wish they'd make a comic series out of that videogame Knights Of The Old Republic, I'd buy that in a second.

Empire #14 The Savage Heart was amazingly cool. If they ever decide to more Vader stories I hope they're like this one.

The Darklighter storyline from Empire #8-9, 12 and 15 was good as was To the Last Man from Empire #16-18.

I really liked the character of the 'Rockabilly Spaceman' BoSheck in Empire #23 : The Bravery of Being Out of Range. I'd like to see more of him.

And I'm looking forward to Empire #27 because as I said my friend Nic drew it.

I'm well aware of the dangers of taking a quote or an action or photograph out of context and using it to make an inductive leap to illustrate a point but the fact is that Bush still said what Kerry asserted that he said.

Anyway you're right the election is over and it's time to stock up on nuclear winter provisions and crucifixes in case of random inspections by Holy officers enforcing, an as yet theoretical, "Christian Act" legislation.

Well He is 'everywhere', I'm sure even at Taco Bell.

Back on tpoic the poster sucks but then in that respect it's representative of the film itself I'm sure.

The fake teaser poster a while back, whilst not being professional or polished was a far sight more in keeping with the supposed throughline of the film and the series. Whereas this poster is just amaturish and 'try-hard-y'.

We all know what it's going for but it just doesn't quite achieve the desired effect. It's like a thumbnail variation on a concept that was taken to proposal level where it should have been given extensive notes and sent back to the drawing board.

The idea is good and the fake teaser poster had the same idea done better.

The composition is poor and the execution of the 'hidden' image is just bad, it looks like a rush job.

It's interesting to note that fans can do better posters than LFL and better DVD transfers al beit from inferior sources, better stories with the novels and comics and tighter editing of the films themselves with fanedits.

Next up a totally fan produced version of the Prequel Trilogy to match the Original Trilogy films in acting effects and sprit and replace the LFL versions of the PT altogether.

Of course I don't want to see the American economy crumble, although if it dips a bit it is good for me because it means I can buy more American crap to fill my house with.

And crumble it would if any president dared take action against the Saudis, which is why it'll never ever happen (unless of course we no longer have need of their oil).

But it might be a risk worth taking in the long run if it's even possible.

We've kind of slipped away again from the fun that this topic was supposed to be, you have that effect sometimes, but I would like to know what you're using as the basis for your belief that Kerry is unfit to lead America.

I really would like to know upon what you are basing this claim.

And would it kill you to post some kind of fun video poking fun at Kerry or Bush or whomever you like while your at it?

Terrorists are not born, as you seem to think, but rather made. Imperialistic American interventionism in the Middle East is creating more terrorists for the next generation than are being stopped now.

Terrorism is an act of desperation by people who feel they've run out of options, it's not a career choice. I am not defending the despicable actions taken by desperate people but the way you see the situation is so far from the truth that it would almost be amusing if only you were the only person who thought that way Chaltab. There are extremists on both sides but naturally having swallowed the party line you're willing to paint the many with the actions of the visible few. And I suppose it's easy enough to do if you never bother to look into things beyond what you've been told to believe and I can see how that would lead to someone just repeating what they've been told as the fact of the matter. As if either side can see the truth from where they're standing.

Unfortunately if this war was designed to rid the world of fanatics you will see that in twenty years it will have succeeded only in doing the opposite.

I don't feel sorry for terrorists, but I do feel sorry for the children of today who will one day become terrorists.

Apart from the few Islamic extremists you speak of with their Fatwas and Jihads most terrorists are ordinary people pushed to the limit and then taken advantage of by these groups which yes must be destroyed so go after the source Saudi Arabia if you think you can handle the economic consequences.
