Spoke to the projectionist at #SWCO and confirmed that these are the same 2K DCPs used for the OT Blu-rays. No 4K (except for Rogue One).

It’s most likely they have the OUT in 4K cause there scanning mostly everything in the Lucasfilm archieves either 2k,4K or both they may make 2 scans of everything one in 2K and the other in 4K and in those scans there are most likely a 4k and 2k Unaltered cut of Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi.

I knew they had the OUT in 4K but what is the difference between 2k and 4K

Maybe cause there is more detail cause of the resolution and restoration than he remembers and that’s why they don’t look how he remembers them.

They are releasing the Unaltered. I know if they don’t then It would show how much they don’t care but they know about how much money they will make

Nooooooooo Maybe after you complete 4k77 if you have time try to create a DNR edition of 4k77 cause I really wanted to see the DNR version grain is alright but I love the look of the Despecialized and and original 35mm print of star wars in 4k and nearly fully denoised bloody kickass.

and I got a mate that is good at editing and other stuff and denoising he is 14 so recruit him in project 4k77 and then it will be released and completed quicker and in DNR and Non DNR so take my advice I will talk to him tomorrow about it I hope you take my idea I’m good at this stuff aswell so maybe recruit me

Please bring back the DNR version I was gutted when I found out u had cancelled it

I Love Project 4k77 and I want to see this go all through to completion and afterwards I hope they bring back the DNR edition
