Tried to apply that LUT to the Grindhouse using VSDC with no success, what software did you use Dek?
So just curious, this is obviously going to be taking a while. To my knowledge, the only real 35mm fan release that has happened so far is the Renegade Grindhouse. But as I understand it, some fans have done their own basic color corrections of that release.
Is there anything out there that anybody’s done with some basic color correction or cleanup to hold people over in the meantime while this gets finished? I’ve seen some impressive-looking versions with just a basic color correction applied, but these have been hard to track down for people and are a bit more, shall we say, ephemeral.
Dreamaster made a cleaned up version of the Grindhouse with color corrections, that’s probably the best version made from 35mm transfers out there. Although, some problems are still present, like the red pulse on the first reels, which couldn’t be fixed, I guess.
While I still prefer the Harmy’s Despecialized 2.0, I think Dreamaster did a fantastic job on what was possible with the Grindhouse.
Nice to see the Knights of Ren again.
Seriously, how long do we wait before drafting a new petition that simply opens with “Dear Walt Disney Company”?
I was so certain the Unaltered Original Trilogy would be announced during Celebration for the 40th anniversary. While standing in various lines I would mention it during conversation and always the same response… blank stares. It was like I was speaking latin or something. I don’t know if they just had no idea what I was talking about or were just devoted to whatever is said to be the official version that the idea of anything else was blasphemous.
I know how that is. I learned to stop bringing the subject up at Celebration after I started getting belligerent and pedantic responses toward it. It’s a truly sad state of affairs.
And I thought I was the one with a problem when I had more than 5 different versions of the ESB and still wasn’t satisfied. LOL
A whole trilogy of Spaceballs? Nice!
Ha! That’s funny as I’ve made pretty much the same comparison to a friend (that TLJ could be a Spaceballs remake) and his response was " that’s an insult to Spaceballs!"
Sadly, he is right.

Will a MKV release of the 4k83 DNR version be released like the Non DNR 4k83 and the 4k77 projects ?
You can easily create a .mkv file from the .iso. Just use MakeMKV, it’s really easy to do it.
Spaceballs 2 was a funny movie, I did miss Rick Moranis though.
My favorite scene here, loved the pizza shaped spaceship LOL.

Love to find a new figure I didn’t knew about and then discovering it costs more on ebay than 3x the original price LOL.
Not only the crawl looks more defined and with a better color, but the stars are better too. Great work indeed.
Couldn’t watch any of the previews, but from the pics you posted here, this is looking amazing.
I also dont want the mystery of Hans backstory explained to me ether. Sometimes the mystery is better than the actual answers. Will never watch.
I still haven’t watched Solo because of this too, I have zero interest in watching an origin story of the character.
I think they should’ve focused on side characters with these spin offs, just like they did with Rogue One. I have my problems with R1, but it had a much more appealing concept and I found it a meaningful addition to the saga.
