Oh god do I really have to read through 108 pages of prequel apologist mumbo jumbo?

There's two main things I got from RLM's reviews:

1. He's a comedic reviewer. As such, he exaggerates his viewpoints for comedic effect. This is to be expected, guys like Nostalgia Critic do this too.

2. None of his nitpicks would matter at all if the story was better written, the films better directed, and if the characters were better acted and more compelling. This was made pretty clear by the end of his Ep3 review.

I agree with all of those except for the bit about Anakin being raised on Tatooine. That's not really universe shrinking to me, it was already established that Luke and his uncle were from Tatooine, it only makes sense that most of the rest of his family would come from there too.

Lucas dismissing critiques because the films are "for kids" is insulting to kids' films.

Star Wars is a family film that appeals to adults just as much as it does for children. Well the original trilogy at least.

I suggest replacing every fight scene in the OT with fights from the PT, only with the relevant character's heads badly composited over the PT characters.

This is probably the route I'll take, although the concern is that the PT is so "pretty" and the OT so "ugly" that they'll hate the OT even if they see it first - unless they avoid the PT for at least a few years.

Well then obviously we need a fan edit that makes the PT look uglier.

If I had children, I don't think I'd do anything to 'prevent' them from watching the PT. I'd show them the OT first and tell them why I don't like the PT, but I'd leave it up to them whether to watch it.

Maybe I'd have them watch some PT fan edits instead...
