I’m trying to cook up a satisfying way to edit Snoke out of the sequels entirely.
The main problem is his screen time in The Last Jedi.
What I want to do is cut the talk with Snoke, him getting cut in half, and the Praetorian guard fight, but keep some of the “let the past die” discussion.
So here’s what I’m thinking. Place the Kylo/Rey “let the past die” dialogue earlier in the film, in the scene where Rey and Kylo Ren are talking via the ForceTime in the hut on Ach-To.
To do this swap, I’d have to mask out the more obvious star destroyer elements from the Kylo/Rey closeups, and then maybe create a custom wide angle shot. Maybe the scene could be set in a vision of Luke’s destroyed temple, to explain the fire and destruction in the existing footage.
Kylo would offer for Rey to join him, they’d nearly touch hands, Luke would barge in and the movie would continue pretty much as normal, just without the scenes on Snoke’s ship. Next time we see Rey she’s flying in to help the Resistance on Crait.

Is there a feasible way to remove both Snoke and Palpatine from the entire sequel trilogy, and have Kylo Ren as the sole main villain?

Getting rid of Snoke in The Force Awakens is no problem, he only has a few scenes.

The Last Jedi would be a bit more of a problem. The Snoke’s Throne Room scene would have to go, or at least be heavily altered.

Snoke isn’t a problem in Rise of Skywalker, but the Emperor poses some major issues. The Force battle finale on the ground on Exegol would have to go. Maybe the space battle could be salvaged, but Rey v Grandpa Sheev would definitely get cut. Maybe the Rey/Kylo lightsaber fight on the Death Star wreckage could serve as the final battle?

Anyone has any suggestions on how to make this crazy idea work, hit me back!

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but early HDTV broadcasts of The Phantom Menace were based on the theatrical cut, right?
Has someone preserved this version of the film? If so, where?

Could one of you gents send along a link to the deleted scenes? Would be much appreciated.
