Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I was using utorrent, and it was indeed 100% complete.

It's a good thing to check, a pretty good thought, of course. However, I have been torrenting stuff for more years that I'd like to think about with reasonable success (yay, install media ISOs and the like). I'm pretty sure that the torrent client thought it had the contents of the torrent, that it was complete and had been seeding for a while when I stopped it.

BTW, I tried updating my utorrent (it hadn't been used for a while), and AMAGAD, suddenly it was horridly spammy and groaning with adverts, so it has to go :)

I'd probably use qtorrent or something, when next I try. The only issue is that I can't see the torrent on myspleen (or anywhere else) atm, either. If I could find a viable source, I'd probably start again from scratch, if needed.

Edit: myspleen's search seems to be showing it again, so I will have another go, if it looks right :)

Hmm, I got the 2.5 mkv from myspleen, and the md5sum is wrong, and it really doesn't play properly, to say the least. Loads of discontinuities.

(At first, I worried that it was just that vlc was scared of all the tracks, so made a -vc -copy ac copy with ffmpeg, with a -map 0:0 and -map 0:2 to just use the video and the stereo 35mm mix...)

The problem is, I can't see it on there right now, to get a replacement copy. At 18 gb, it also eats into my monthly quota when it's corrupt, so was hoping that the torrent client would just sort it out for me :D

Help me remove annoying HUM/BUZZ from an audio file (PCM Laserdisc soundtrack)
Time

It's worth mentioning that in a pinch, Audacity (which is free) can do a pretty good noiseprint noise removal, too.

You have to fiddle with the parameters, as it's a tradeoff between removing more noise and impinging on the wanted signal, but it's surprisingly good. I have used it to rescue quite a lot of rushes from shoots where the environment doesn't behave.

It's probably not as good as Izotope, but it's a great deal better than the bog standard attempts to notch filter that a lot of people use.
