I agree that the Bix stuff is weird. I’m also wondering what the point of that sleep drug she was taking was. It seemed to be setting up something when Luthen told her that the dreams would come back worse, but then that is never followed up on. I guess we’re supposed to assume that after she kills Dr. Gorst she’s free of the nightmares, but I think that idea could work better if the sleep drug was cut. Another option is like you said just remove the killing Dr. Gorst beat because it’s not really set up anyways, and it seems like they didn’t know what to do with her after that. I was honestly expecting her to get killed off somehow, but if she was still haunted by Dr. Gorst, I think her leaving would make more sense. Those are just my initial thoughts.
So, apparently the IMDB credits are incomplete and not accurate. I got a more complete list from TheThirdGathers and I have created new versions of both the Preservation Edition and Extended Edition. The only other change I made is that the Preservation Edition now has the original 2.0 AC3 mix as the default audio track along with the original subtitle timing as the default. Due to these being minor (and necessary) updates, I will not be hosting the previous versions (PRN1.2 and PRN2.2). PRN1.2 is only notable because it was screened at Nottingham on April 28th, and PRN2.2 is not notable at all. However, I can make these versions temporarily available upon specific request, and I will still host the project files and description files for preservation purposes.
I will also be providing a 7.1 music and effects track for the full film, and a 5.1 music and effects track for the trailer for anybody who wants to try their own remake/remaster or any other kind of dub of this film. I want to be clear that these are not perfect by any means. There may be missing/not completely accurate SFX, and there may be some bleeds of the original dialog. There are also still some small lines from background droids/clones. For the most part though, there is no dialog spoken by any main character.
Season 2 Poster
The edit isn’t done yet, and I don’t want to spoil anything.
Oh my bad. I totally misread your message. I thought you were referring to another scene. I was considering adding that, but I’m not sure how it would work logistically. Would Palpatine go to the temple with Anakin, or would he go after? It’s a cool concept, but I’m not sure how it would work.
I have completed 2 of the 3 VFX shots needed for that scene (although shot 2 could use a bit more work). You can find them (and other VFX clips and resources) at this link - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1P52KHZR-_YfabWejF7l_EgiB9nVRcCFl?usp=drive_link
Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith - Revised [Releases December]
If you would like an alternate (possibly better) way to view my edits, check out A Game of Clones. Revenge of the Sith was always my favorite prequel. However, I think the problems that it does have are so fundamental to the film that it’s actually very difficult to improve through editing. Anakin’s turn just isn’t convincing. Most people say it happens too quickly. The deleted scenes hardly do anything to remedy this. It’s nice to see the Senators trying to stop Palpatine, but this does little for Anakin’s arc. Since there’s no real way to slow down Anakin’s turn to the dark side, I choose to lean into the sudden turn. I did this by [REDACTED]. This makes Anakin’s actions more understandable, and it gives the title of the film new meaning.
Revenge of the Sith looks far better than the other two prequels. It doesn’t need much work in terms of color grading although I did do some slight desaturation. I also gave Kashyyyk a bit of a green shift. I used footage from Dsqrd’s edit in several places throughout the film to add in the blinking lights on the astromechs.
For the deepfake, I just used the footage from here (not the same music or soundmix) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxRl9ZYeISk
I would like to update this edit with the footage that Snooker posted in this thread though - https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Making-the-Obi-Wan-Anakin-training-session-From-the-Kenobi-series-work-in-an-AOTC-edit/id/95775
Do Palpatine and Dooku actually want Padme killed? I said in one of the commentary tracks that it makes more sense that Dooku would be trying to kill Padme if she is in favor of the Military Creation Act. I said that Dooku was doing this without the approval of Palpatine because he wants the Republic to be weak and for the Separatists to actually win the war. However, I think this interpretation only really makes sense if you are being as charitable as possible to Dooku and the Separatist cause. I think a better way to interpret this would be that Palpatine and Dooku don’t actually want Padme assassinated, but they want it to look like she is under threat of assassination. That way she can try to use the assassination attempts as leverage to pass the Military Creation Act. This would also explain why the assassination attempts are so pathetic. Deciphering the politics of this movie is insanely complicated, but that’s kind of what I enjoyed about working on it.
Yeah that’s another thing that it improves. In the original film, her immediately blaming Dooku seemingly comes out of nowhere. The way I’ve characterized her here though makes that comment more believable. Placing blame on Dooku would increase the public’s fear of the Separatists and generate more support for the Military Creation Act. It also feels more like a continuation of her character in The Phantom Menace. In that film, she called for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Valorum because of his lack of action against the Trade Federation. The Trade Federation has only become more militarized between TPM-R and AOTC-R. I also removed some of her more pacifist dialog in TPM-R (“I will not condone any action that will lead us to war”) because it clashes with her actions at the end of the film and to be consistent with AOTC-R.
A more detailed explanation on why I changed Padme’s political stances: This is a change I’ve given quite a bit of thought to over the years. I will admit that I have sort of “assassinated” Padme’s character here. She will not be the same character that we know from the theatrical films and the Clone Wars. So, these edits will not be compatible with the Clone Wars, and I can understand if that puts some people off. I guess you just have to “unlearn what you have learned” about Padme (and the other characters) in order to enjoy these edits. To be more specific about Padme’s political stances, she is pro military creation act (she is actually the creator of the act), but she is still anti dictatorship. She only decides to suggest giving Palpatine the emergency powers after trying and failing to convince the Senate to create a military earlier in the film. Her experience with the Trade Federation blockade on Naboo (and presumably more bad experiences with them and other organizations such as the Commerce Gilds and the fact that she is the target of several assassination attempts) have convinced her that there is a need for a military force to protect the Republic that she loves. She’s less of an idealist and more willing to play the political game in order to actually accomplish things. There are tons of thematic ramifications for this that I really like. She basically causes the destruction of the very things she was trying to protect because of this “deal with the devil” (mirroring Anakins arc). This “deal with the devil” angle will be played up more in Revenge of the Sith though (because that’s where it’s relevant thematically) so I don’t want to reveal too much about it here. It gives her character more dimension and edge in my opinion, and it shows that she is actually an effective legislator who accomplishes things. On a more technical note, I never understood why Padme would even need to appoint Jar-Jar as her representative when she can just use hologram technology. The Jedi Council had tons of meetings using holograms. So, I see no reason why Senators shouldn’t be allowed to do the same thing (especially considering her circumstances).
I would like to revisit this edit after I finish Revenge of the Sith - Revised. One idea I had that was never completed is making it so that Anakin confesses the Tusken slaughter to Palpatine through a hologram. This would allow Anakin to unpack his feelings without confessing to Padme. It also ties into Revenge of the Sith.
If you would like an alternate (possibly better) way to view my edits, check out A Game of Clones. I posted this edit on Reddit a while ago, but I was waiting to post it here until I finished an exhaustive changelog. The big changes are that Padme is the creator of the military creation act. There is no need for Jar-Jar to take her place in the Senate. She just uses holograms to be in the senate meetings. I also tried to cut down the antagonism between Anakin and Obi-Wan. I tried to improve the romance between Anakin and Padme using deleted scenes (no fireplace scene and no pulling away during the kiss). I also added more Dooku setup using Dooku at Qui-Gon’s funeral as the opening scene and adding in the lost 20 scene. Dooku no longer reveals Darth Sidious during his interrogation of Obi-Wan. He instead gives more information about Sifo Dyas and his warning is more vague. The third act is heavily based on what The Phantom Editor did except for the lightsaber duels where I did some new VFX.
Many people have asked me why I’ve spent so much time on this project. I think it’s because of how frustrating it is to watch this film. I’ve always loved Star Wars for as long as I can remember, and the prequels are a huge part of the story. They’re filled to the brim with great ideas. Talking about them is really fun and interesting, but actually sitting down to watch one of them is just boring and confusing. Attack of the Clones was always my least favorite prequel. As a kid, I loved Revenge of the Sith, and I could tolerate The Phantom Menace because of the podrace scene and the final duel. Attack of the Clones just never had any stand out moments. It was simply the black sheep of the prequels for me. It’s the only Star Wars film to pan up instead of down after the opening crawl. It basically has two “A” plots. Obi-Wan’s story and Anakin’s story are intercut (until they collide at the end), but neither really feels prioritized. It looks very strange because it was the first major film to be shot entirely on digital. It was the first time we see Yoda in CGI (other than a brief shot in The Phantom Menace). So, I felt nervous about tackling this film. However, once I started working on it, I began to appreciate it for what it was trying to be.
Each planet is given its own color palette. Kamino has a blue shift, Tatooine is desaturated, Geonosis is more saturated, Naboo is brighter and more vibrant. I also added some film grain to give it a less digital look.
From what I’ve heard, Backstroke of the West was likely created by a software called Kingsoft (金山快译) [probably the 2002 version]. I think a user on Reddit named u/Tokageron may be able to help with acquisition of this software. There is some Backstroke style A New Hope (The Novelty Desire) and Empire Strikes Back (The Counterattack Collection) dubs, but they’re made by a different group. You can find more info here - https://www.reddit.com/r/TheDubGathers/
There is a new project that the Backstroke of the West creators are working on called “Hally Porter and the Door of the Room.” I’m actually a producer for that project. This is the original creators YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/@HallyPorter and this is a sample scene - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHwMSzPLtiA
I jumped ahead to season 2 to experiment a bit, and also because I’m just procrastinating the Revenge of the Sith episodes. I made a draft of S02E01 “The Jedi Remember” at the same link as “A Desperate Rescue.” I also fixed the audio levels on “A Desperate Rescue” and added subtitles.
I was able to upload S00E05 (The Cloned Jedi) to YouTube since it’s based on a videogame. It will premier in 2 days - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO15W6_VT-w
I just uploaded another episode of “A Game of Clones” called “A Desperate Rescue.” This episode is a draft as of right now. I’m pretty happy with it, but I say draft because I’m not sure how the next two episodes (“Knightfall” and “Fire and Blood”) will play out (and there are no subtitles yet). This episode (and the rest of season 1) will also feature 7.1 surround sound.
I ran out of storage at the first link. So, if you would like to see this episode, please ask for the new link.
I actually just realized that the old poster ( https://i.imgur.com/4xjChDd.png ) featured Mortis lol. I just thought it looked cool. Since Mortis won’t be featured in this edit, I’m going with a different set of posters. My new idea is a poster for each season showing the progress of the Death Star’s construction.
Somebody on YouTube just made something similar, but it’s completely AI generated.

Although I won’t be including this scene in Revenge of the Sith - Revised, I would like to include it in A Game of Clones so that it ties in with the Labyrinth of Evil episode. I tried to remove all of the awkward parts of the scene. Anakin and Obi-Wan’s reaction to Shaak Ti’s death in the original scene is to start making jokes and finish each others sentences. So, I removed all that and gave Anakin a more serious line that I generated with Eleven Labs. I’m still not thrilled with how Obi-Wan delivers the “Oh yes, alright” line because it sounds too upbeat. The rest of the scene is based on what Bobson Dugnutt did in Revenge of the Sith - Expanded Edition. Including this scene means that the scene on the bridge needs to be heavily reworked. I made 3 versions of this to avoid having Grievous say “We’ve been waiting for you” two times. There’s two lines ripped from Battlefront 2 that I think would work here, or I could cut the whole line entirely. Let me know what you guys think.
Yeah I agree that some people (including myself) get a little overzealous with the ability to change/add lines. I doubt this scene will be used in any of my edits, and if it did, it would have a lot more work done to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daxgI8q-QJg - This is a concept scene based on the unreleased Revenge of the Sith deleted scene of Obi-Wan’s first conversation with Padme (the one Anakin references during the “A Jedi Lost” scene). I doubt you could get away with actually using this scene because the AI voices still aren’t there yet, but I wanted to leave it here in case anybody could find a use for it or improve it somehow.
Small update - I added Yaddle with a yellow lightsaber to the deleted scenes folder. This was an early concept I had for the Count Dooku episode, but I couldn’t get it looking good enough. So, I just left in the green lightsaber, but it’s there if anybody is interested.
I just uploaded another episode called “Labyrinth of Evil.” It’s made up of volume 2 of the original Clone Wars show. This will be probably be the last episode I upload for a while. I need to finish Revenge of the Sith - Revised before I can do further episodes.
