What’s the latest update on this project, how’s it going? I’m thinking about donating.

Found another one. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Original-Trilogy-Despecialized-Edition-3-Blu-Ray-Set-SEALED-BRAND-NEW/162905430089?hash=item25edeb9849:g:FvoAAOSwIFtZ~TN1
Wtf, how did he get it “sealed”?
I’ve never done it, but when I did a bit of googling, I think you want to build an AVISYNTH script with this:
https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=170004
MVCSource appears to allow you to decode either stream, at which point you can either write out to an AVI File, or encode with x264 etc.
Got it, thank you!
I’m not sure if you can do mathematically zero loss of quality, as I believe 3D Blu-rays are encoded with MVC video codec, while 2D Blu-rays use AVC video codec.
Ok, so how would I do it with minimal loss of quality?
I am trying to make an edit of the IMAX version of guardians of the galaxy and GOTG Vol.2 and I know that the IMAX scenes are on the 3d blu ray. I want to know if i can separate the 3d blu ray into two 2d files (One for right eye, one for left eye) with ZERO loss of quality. Since both films on 3d blu ray have alterations to the 2.39:1 scenes (such as items popping out of the frame) I plan to combine the 3D IMAX scenes with the 2D 2.39:1 scenes on the regular blu ray and author it to blu ray with no loss of quality. How should I go about this project? (Also, when I am done, I plan to do the same thing with Civil War and Doctor Strange).
Thanks

Great, thank you.
The title pretty much sums up my question. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I have premiere pro, so if there is a way I can do it in that program, that would be ideal.
Yeah, I got it to play in VLC by changing the demuxer to h.264, but it really should be in a more useable format.
I agree. Is there a way to just drop that file into the blu ray. (I have made a copy of it on my computer). If not, that’s fine, I was starting work on a bd50 with the full movie.
I’ve been skimming through this thread and I’m really sorry but I haven’t found a concrete answer to this question, but, how did njvc use tsmuxer to convert the video to import it into encore? How did he extract the audio tracks to swap them, and the original lossless video (before it was reencoded by encore) into the blu ray using multiAVCHD? I’m working on my own project to put the force awakens IMAX edition (by adywan) to blu ray. Thanks!
I’ve got em, anyone want them?
PM’s sent to all of you!😃
Please PM me, too! Thank you so much! 😃

Basically, the only ones who can legally distribute anything Star Wars are Fox (ANH) and Disney (everything else), without something in writing from the appropriate party saying otherwise.
For most of us morality isn’t tied directly to legality so we don’t care about non-profit redistribution of what the rightsholders don’t want to be bothered redistributing - and they might even look the other way - but they don’t really have to. We’re fortunate that they have done so so far.
I thought it was all Disney now, after they bought almost all of Fox.
I believe it still requires some sort of approval process, first.
And that could take as long as 18 months.
Ah, I see, thank you

Aye, could well be mate.
I have tried posting under a different account - and that didn’t appear either (or yet).
Ah, ok, I’ll just keep my eyes peeled for when your (or my) comment showes up.
CrplHicks comment from 2 days ago is the newest I can see in the public view on there (sorting comments by ‘newest comments’ first. There are 94 comments so far).
When I ‘sign in’ the newest comment I can see is mine from around 1 hour ago - it may take some time for comments to appear.
Or he could have used the “block this user’s comments” feature to us like he did to Harmy.
Looks like he’s disabled all comments now.
Seems like quite a guy.
Still seems like comments are there at my end, can anyone else confirm or deny?
Here’s the comment I posted on *** video and it got promptly deleted:
“I really wish people would stop supporting this a-hole - it makes me furious that I keep seeing people posting links to his site in every Despecialized discussion. By making profit from these edits (and make no mistake, he is - the cost of materials is nowhere near that high and paying him for his work means he’s making a profit) he is seriously endangering the continued existence and updating of the edits - the only reason the studios turn a blind eye to fan edits is because no profit is being made!!! That’s why I have the no selling or buying rule, it’s not some effing whim.”
Reposted it. Suggest other people do the same if we want him to get the message.
You know the issue is getting bad when Harmy himself comes and comments on the video of ***.
And then *** deletes it
Well, im a day late and a dollar short on this thread, but I couldnt resist not giving my 2¢. My opinion of changing AR is 2 fold. First, I HATE IT!!!
Then you DEFINITELY don’t want to see Kong: Skull Island! I watched it last night via HBO streaming and the aspect ratio literally changed shot-to-shot for the entire film. It drove me nuts! Haha I don’t mind it if it’s for a scene here or there, as in TFA, but this was horribly distracting and amateurish.
Yeah, it also drive me crazy in Transformers The Last Knight!
PM’s sent to all of you!😃
I noticed some inconsistencies with the prequel covers so I just updated my original post. Be sure to refer to that instead of the replies.

I noticed puppet Yoda on the phantom menace cover and was wondering if you based it off of a “Despecialized” sort of theatrical reconstruction of the phantom menace. Does a theatrical version exist, and I can I find it on the spleen or something?
Harmy, did you remove your comment? Because it’s not there anymore. The only other explanation would be that he removed it which would make him an even BIGGER a-hole!
Got two of my friends to sign!
Can someone please send me the sequence in that 1.78:1 ratio? I’ve been looking for it everywhere.
PM sent!
In the beginning with qui gon and Obi Wan, when the drodekas approached, there “super sped run” was blurred more.
