I just need a good weekend where I don’t have anything else to do, to actually sit down and work on this some more. I’m still making notes here and there, though, about what could be done.
I might throw the “script” I have written for the Force bond duel scene on here sometime, in case anyone else wants to tackle it.

Is this the final workprint? “Rey Nobody” version has any progress? i’m waiting for that version.
All the work put on this edit is incredible and i appreciate all the effort, but i really can’t enjoy the movie with that twist, that “twist” cheapens the whole trilogy for me and makes the whole Rian vs JJ tug war situation more glaring.

Hello There! long time lurker here… i just created an account to say how awesome everyone working in this edit is!
My friends and i were very disappointed with EP9, i hope that with this edit we could have atleas a decent finale to the saga.
Yeah, it kinda sucks. I can tell that JJ is a “by popular demand” sort of guy, always catering to the wishes of the angry internet fan base (or at least what he thinks are their wishes). His Star Wars movies seem pandering and safe at their core, and the story suffers for it.
Agreed, KK should atleast had Rian working along with JJ… that way both JJ’s “Crowd pleasing” and Rian’s “Experimental Indy” styles would have balanced each other…
“Rey Palpatine” is such an unearned retcon that goes agains’t one of the most important twist of TLJ, and that hurts the trilogy so bad, maybe JJ didn’t like the twist of “They sold her for drinking money” as so many people did, but retconning in that way is embarrasing, he should have been a professional and follow the story he was given.
Is like if in Return of the Jedi this happened:
LUKE: Master Yoda… is Darth Vader my father?
YODA: Mmm… rest I need. Yes… rest.
LUKE: Yoda, I must know.
YODA: Right you are, but only an evil clone of your real father Anakin Skywalker he is.
LUKE: No way!
“Rey Palpatine” is not just a poorly written predictable copy of “I’m just father”, it also confirms that only people with “strong bloodlines” with high midichlorians count can do important things or are important in the order of the galaxy.
It also doesn’t work in a character level… Rey doesn’t even know or care about the guy! Luke saw vader killing his mentor and chasing/capturing his friends before the reveal, that is why so hard for him.
Why is Rey afraid of going to the darkside because his lineage in TROS? HER FUCKING FATHER WAS A CLONE/DIRECT SON OF SHEEV PALPATINE AND HE WAS A GOOD PERSON ACCORDING TO TROS, LUKE SKYWALKER WAS THE SON OF DARTH FUCKING VADER … UGH…
This movie is horrible.
Yes that twist was pretty dumb, i read somewhere that this edit, is going to have 2 versions one with mantaining TLJ Rey’s Nobody and the other being more faithful to TROS, both version are going to come out in the same time?
