Absolutely fantastic work!

What decisions did you make when editing? Because I noticed there are some moments, before or after the actual uncut content that is actually in SD when it technically should be in HD. There’s times where the edit is actually much longer that the extra footage.

Like theoretically if you were to edit out the bits you put in, then it would actually be incomplete even as a TV version.

Was it to make transitions natural looking/sounding/smoother or something to that effect?

I found it to be a much smoother transition doing it that way, especially if it was a long single take.
So I liked to cut at a camera cut due to the color and aspect ratio changes.

Thanks for the reply.

I’m not a super fan, so I don’t know every single frame and word. I do own the uncut DVD, but I haven’t watched much. I was watching Friends on Netflix, then when I discovered this I continued from season 4.

I’m randomly jumping between the 3 versions to compare. I take it you’ve tried to recreate the Uncut DVD version? I’ve actually noticed in s05e02 (Blu-ray/Netflix) @ 9:19 after Phoebe says “it felt French” Joey pulls a face which isn’t even in the uncut or your version. Are there any more tiny instances like that?

There are several variations of episodes, which is great and all but a little confusing to a simpleton like me.

098 Friends S05 Ep 01 - The One After Ross Says Rachel (HD-Uncut VCD Recoloured Video _ VHS Audio Added)-001.mp4
098 Friends S05 Ep 01 - The One After Ross Says Rachel (HD-Uncut VHS Added)-003.mp4
098 Friends S05 Ep 01 - The One After Ross Says Rachel (HD-Uncut)-026.mp4

These 3 for example? The VHS has extra footage it seems, which is noticed at the start. I take it the VCD has slightly better image quality? What does recoloured mean specifically? That it is a different colour or did you adjust it? I think the VHS colour matches the HD more. What was VHS audio added to that one? Is the VCD audio not as good? What do you think? And which is your suggestion, fave?

I also don’t understand what these ‘noticeable 5.1 versions’ are exactly.

Would it be best to suggest to people to PM you for a link rather than here? Saves spamming in this area.

Regards.
