Good luck. The CC looks nice and takes away from that bad tan look Connery had.

Personally, I think the movie looks bland enough that I don't think gritty-ing will do it any favors. If anything, I propose doing some color correcting to try to bring a little more life to the images.
Oh yeah, forgot about that bit. Though that new video definitely shows promise.
Wow.
I've heard about that film but I never realized how unsubtle it truly was. It must have been given the permission of EON to be done, as it even has the theme playing at one point. Too bad its in French as it would probably be interesting to watch to just see how off the wall it is, but I don't think I can watch a dub for that long.
I did like their design of the gunbarrel, however.
There's a deleted scene from TWINE that has the DB5 driving to the funeral after the credits. You could use it as an alternate Shrublands arrival scene perhaps.
Pretty sure this is dead in the water. Last post was nearly a year ago. Too bad, other than the WhoFlix site, there's not nearly enough Doctor Who edits. We get like 5 Star Wars edits a month but nothing on Who. I guess its too much of an undertaking.
Interesting, I never would have guessed that about the conversion process. Figures that after such a long time getting it out on DVD they'd still find a way to muck it up a bit.
Good luck with the edit.
The DVD is available in the US now. There's no need to use a conversion.
Well the difference is that Shia can actually act (not great, but better than a lot his age) while Hayden is wooden whether he's with Lucas or not. And "Shattered Glass," his one decent performance, is not enough to prove to me he is a good actor.
This was really well done. I don't really think the accent is bad but made a little unrefined,, but I definitely like the idea and the dialogue and considering that this is just a test he has plenty of time to fix that.
ID has some personal problems so has taken so time off. As for anyone else, the only one that was speaking of an active edit was Jones but he all but gave up when ID started his in full force.
I still don't see why everyone has such a big problems with aliens?
- A magical box that angels come out of and burn the faces of Nazis: GOOD
- Mystical stones that hold some great power for a people's survival: GOOD
- The cup of Christ which gives eternal youth to whomever drinks it being guarded by an 700 year old man: GOOD
- Interdimensional beings that are looked to as gods by the ancient myans: TERRIBLE
I just really fail to see how the "aliens" are really so different and out there compared to the rest of the series and the macguffins.
It would change your entire argument. In the movie, Ozy uses Doc to create the machine which he uses to kill millions by telling Doc it was for a good cause. If the squid was in the film, it would have to be even longer as it would need more time to establish what happens and would take away from other elements that needed to be covered. With the director's cut at 184 minutes, its already teetering on the edge of being too long.
Your complaints about Rorschach's mask is just stupid, as they did it just like and as much as in the comics. Just because you don't "remember" thats how it was doesn't mean your right. Since you don't seem to have much substantial knowledge about the book, perhaps you should re-read it and realize that the movie is actually a very faithful adaptation and easily the best adaptation of any of Moore's work.
I think if the pictures were to be changed, change Marcus' to Marion.
YOU NEVER REPLACE CONNERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ha!Ha!Ha!
I think the way that the flash of Betty was incorportated into the Alt. Opening for The Incredible Hulk might be a good place to see how to incorporate the footage idea. Its a fairly recent idea and something to maybe get your mind working on possible editing techniques. You can find the footage with a quick Youtube search. The video is only 2.5 minutes too so I don't think it would be too much of a burden.
InfoDroid said:. What is it with Lucas? Everybody's gotta get married! It's so cliche. Indy is James Bond. He never gets married. I love Marion and all, but no.

Well, Bond did get married once but it didn't end so well. Maybe if they did another it would open with Marion getting shot on their honeymoon.
The track is not on the CD. Since there doesn't seem to be a good way to insert the line, I say either keep the original or try to edit as HekS suggested.
Laserschwert said:I guess the title won't be changed that easily anyway, as it's virtually impossible to paint out the original text.
It's not that hard, you just have to do it frame by frame. The title's not on screen that long anyway.
It can be done, someone just has to be willing to do it.
jones1899 said:Heks. Not sure of the version. I'll have to check when I get home. So if Premiere does do this for me, will I have to restart? Any idea how to get the tracks now? And just to be clear (since I don't know much about this) this will seperate the dialog from the score from the effects, etc right?
Thanks
It will give you the separate channels, each of which have different information on each. Surprising, the disc isn't bad apparently when it comes to having the channels split as some people were able to make some relatively clean tracks of score that weren't on the CD. Not every part of the movie will be like this though, so you have to be careful when editing.
BTW, glad to see you are editing this thing yourself (finally :)) and realizing how complicated of a process it really is.
This is to Jones1898:
My point is valid and I am just saying what needs to be said. You want this edit done. Yet no one wants to/ can do it. So because its not getting done, you are pushing this thread everyday saying your hoping for progress. You even go as far as to go to threads for other edits asking if that editor will be doing an edit. You just don't understand that this edit ain't getting done unless someone who is really motivated wants it done.
You want it done, so why not do it. As I said, you cannot learn something unless you try, and with a little work and practice and trial and error, you can accomplish what other editors have. Yes, you likely won't be able to achieve the degree immediately, but at least you can get this edit done which you've obviously invested a great deal of time to in the past few months.
As for editing ideas, I really feel that much has been said. I'm not the kind of person that would ever share an edit I do, as I do it simply for personal enjoyment. I'm not harking on your ideas, just trying to point out that you're beating a dead horse. Give the thread a few days (even a week or two) and time to breathe. Posting everyday wondering what people's progress is will not get this edit done. The fact that no one seems to be actively editing it will also hinder progress greatly. :)
jones1899 said:Surely you understand the difference between somebody who takes a crash course in such software as opposed to the quality you get from an experienced professional. No edit is worth doing unless it is entirely seamless.
Understand?
Also, this "obsessive asking" you're refering to is simply a hope that someone finishes the fine work they've started. I've made it a point to express my understanding that Laser (for instance) is busy and that I just hope someone who has the experience for what looks to be some pretty heavy edits can do an edit of this film. You mentioned yourself that the Superman Returns edit is being done by a special effects professional.
And you want US to just pick up some software and learn it? Come on...
I would LOVE to do it myself, if I could...
I understand, but you don't understand the process. You think just because someone has ideas that its going to get done. These things generally take a long time to produce, especially when there is digital manipulation going on. I've been working on an edit of Episode III for over a year and really just got it to a point that I'm happy with.
As for you not having editing experience, there's no way to get it unless you actually do some editing. You can find an old version of Vegas or a comparable editor on eBAY for a considerably reduced rate, and can gain some experience while working on the project and making it what you want it to be. Clearly those really interested in this project don't have the availability to do this edit, so here is a perfect opportunity to take up a new hobby.
As for the "obsessives asking":
You ask nearly every day for updates, which amounts to a kid in the backseat asking his dad "Are We There Yet?" Things like this take a lot of time. If you were to start editing you would quickly realize this.
He has a full time job for an effects company and has been trying to finish his Superman Returns edit for years. Even if he finsihes it within a couple of months, there's no way he's gonna to have anything Indy related finished this year.
To Heks and Jones1899, you two seem very interested in getting an edit done. Why don't you get together, buy some software and look at some tutorials and work on the project yourselves, because obsessively asking for someone else to do it obviously isn't gonna to happen.
Jones1899
Calm down. People will get to it when you get to it. Posting everyday pushing people to finish their projects aint going to make it happen any faster.
I'm sure GM doesn't want the link to his site readily posted in this forum. If its not a problem I'm sorry, but I thought he wanted to keep it on the downlow, Beatho.
