STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Hey Adywan

I dont often post but after reading that e-mail I felt like I had to. Dont listen to it and dont let this guy stop you, one nutcase out of hundreds of people shouldn’t be the reason to stop anything! To send an e-mail like that and to then makes threats are the actions of someone with limited brain capacity or a low mental age.

If he was that bothered he would have to be sending e-mails like that to

1. Anyone who has made an edit
2. Anyone who has made a fan film
3. Anyone who has spoofed Star Wars

Hes got a lot of e-mails to write!!

The only reason he picked your work, after over 6 months of waiting and "biding his time" and not saying anything before is because you release a trailer which was near perfect studio quality.

Change is strange for some people and to be that obsessed over the original Star Wars film and to send this e-mail to you at this particular time is just a sign of JEALOUSY my friend.

Your intention is not to make a profit and you’ve always made that clear, Im sure your production will have a disclaimer stating this. Your intention is a tribute to a brilliant film and if this odd character has a problem with it he should go back to downloading pr0n and harassing small children or whatever odd things he gets up to.

Theres nutters all over the web but that doesn’t mean anyone should actually listen to them!

Keep it up mate and don’t let one moron distract you from an awesome awesome edit.

My second point is that this is by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, whose music was the inspiration for John Williams AND George Lucas as well. This is a little known fact, but George Lucas bought an album called "The Sea Hawk", a recording of Korngold's film music by Charles Gerhardt, and it was this that inspired him to request the same type of score from J. Williams- he even mentioned "The Sea Hawk" in the conversation.

...............

Oh My God! I never knew that!!!!! ................and the score actually works with the new titles!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else think there is a certain irony here when it comes to copyright theft!!!!

Yep they are aliens, so you have a free run with them blinking sideways, or eating through their ears etc. and it seems unlikely that aliens would have faces that have no movement at all (as in the original trilogy), but seems equally unlikely that certain races would be chronic over actors. ..........

I would make the first alien with the yellow eyes who pops up at the start blink , I reckon that would setup the shot for showing that all the Aliens have facial movement.

The Greedo scene is still fantastic. Wouldnt change that one bit now.

It will be hard if not impossible to watch the original SE2004 discs after this!!

Hi Adywan
Some suggestions for scene modifications.....if you havent already considered them....

Id be tempted just to remove this shot altogether it just looks fake and pulls you out of the Star Wars universe!

I'm keeping this shot in. i've done a bit of tweaking to it. i've balanced the shadows to remove the green tint to the speeder and a few other objects and removed the creatures that are on the left side of the frame completely.

Maybe its the odd coloured sand theyve used or something but it just doesnt "feel" right IMHO. I guess if it was more sand like and less mottled effect it could look better....

Great work on all the other bits by the way.

Please Please Please remove this flying thing in the background, ever since it was put into the film in 04 it has distracted me from whats actually going on in the scene, its not necessary and I would pay to have it taken out of the film!!

How are you planning on handling this "comedy" scene??

I think any criticism has been constructive, to be honest there hasnt been much...I guess the more feedback TM gets the better the output.

Sometimes you get so involved with something you can lose a little perspective and its good to have people challenge ideas to put you back on track. I doubt trained actors are required, that really is overkill, the voice sounds fine. A little more TLC with the voiceovers to match the scenes in sound quality (i.e. not sounding really dubbed) and matching the voice to the face/lips and IMHO its going to turn out really well.

Still think you share a passing resemblence to Hayden but with a deeper voice, which is a positive in my books as if it didnt, I think it would be too much of a leap for most people to mentally adjust their ears too ...(if you can mentally adjust your ears, but you know what I mean!)

Yeah, those are very interesting clips, it will be a transition to get use to a different anakin voice, but that is something we're all ready for anyhow. The thing about the garage scene is that anakin was yelling out his dialouge " The women! The children!".........it was a tense scene that I actually enjoyed in the original (other than the bare reaction from padme). So I think you'll have to match whatever the "attitude" of Hayden is, especially for this scene. Because when you speak a low , calm voice for a character that is tempered up and is speaking quite loudly, then your gonna have scenes like that. I think your voice is going to work for the character, but you'll have to be mindful of the ADR and matching whatever we're "seeing" from the actor and combining that with how you want to pull it off and the different dialouge. I did notice a few words didn't match the pattern of his lips movement (due to new dialouge)......however it was noticeable and was wondering if you had tried to do more (added lines) when anakins talking is not in frame? It's kind of like watching a godzilla movie when the voices and the actors seem out of sync. Good job though, just friendly criticism. It's a labor of love isn't it?

I agree.

Its amazing how much you sound like Hayden though, just need to be mindful of matching the voice to the facial/emotional expressions.

I disagree, Darthbeej, the Death Star was not operational at that time. The fleet was there guarding it as it was being completed.

See your point, although we could end up in the same debate the generals in the room have ;-)

Depends on whether you think the Empires arrogance as displayed in the meeting room scene meant they left it ungaurded

OR

Whether they had a fleet of star destroyers guarding it

To be honest I reckon it was 99% complete and wouldnt need guarding as the generals seem failry arrogant about its capability. However, nothing wrong with a few star destroyers I just think they need to be hanging around for a reason i.e as they are near a docking station or part of an armarda or orbiting Coruscant.

Think the idea is great however some changes I would make...........

1) Slow the movement of the planet / camera / death star / star destroyer down a bit

- it appears to race by quite quickly and shows a bit too much "sliding" of objects rather than giving the impression of static solid objects in space - (best way I can describe it)

2) Lose the star destroyers in the background if not all together, there wasnt much need for a fleet as they had a Death Star!?

- The fleet appeared on a large scale in ESB in a Battlestar Galactica type of manner IMHO, including them makes you wonder what happended to them when the rebels attack later in the film!? Wouldnt the Empire have used them as frontline of defense if they were hovering by the Death Star when the rebels xwing fighters appear??. If they are there for show then the planet needs to be something worth hovering over....see next point

3) Change the colour of the planet - blue implies Alderaan which we dont see for another 30 mins (roughly!)

- Could the planet be Coruscant in the background rather than hovering over a blue unidentified planet in orbit, would this give the destoyers a reason to be there.

Please dont take this as critisicm, I cant wait for your edit to be finished, its bringing back that feeling of waiting to watch Star Wars for the first time when I was 10!!!! So keep up the good work.

Good bits, love the addition of the music in the Generals meetings, dont mind the imperial march too much in the Death Star fly by....
