The Spider-Man 3 thread
Time
I've heard that Gwen Stacy was brought in because Kristen Dunst has refused to return as MJ because she hates Toby Maguire, so they've decided to basically reverse the roles that MJ and Gwen Stacy played in the comic book, by killing off MJ and having him end up with Gwen Stacy. Don't know if its true or not, but I've heard it from several places.
As for Spider-Man III, I'm afraid that its going to end up like Superman III and Batman Forever: it will do well at the boxoffice, but it won't be that good of a film, and won't be remembered well. Personally, I've gotten tired of the Spider-Man movie series, and the endless Peter Parker's life sucks, and giving Harry Osborne more and more reasons to hate Spider-Man with no resolution in sight. Also, it seems like, especially in Spider-man 2, that the villians are minor characters to the drama, and very little action, which every comic book movie needs. I think that they wasted Doctor Octopus, and its too bad, because he was a great villian, and Alfred Molina did a great job in it.

How do you watch the Star Wars Saga?

1 The Phantom Menace.
2 Battlefront: Battle of Naboo on X-Box.
3 Racer's Revenge on the Playstation 2.
4 Bounty Hunter on Gamecube.
5 Attack of the Clones.
6 Battlefront-Geonosis Battle on X-Box.
7 Clone Wars Volume 1.
8 Republic Commando on X-Box.
9 Clone Wars Volume 2.
10 Revenge of the Sith.
11 1st level of Dark Forces PC (Where you steal the Death Star plans).
12 A New Hope.
13 Rogue Leader-Battle of Yavin and Hoth on Gamecube.
14 The Empire Strikes Back.
15 Shadows of the Empire on Nintendo 64
16 The Return of the Jedi.
17 Battlefront-Battle of Endor on X-Box.
18 Rogue Leader-Battle of Endor on Gamecube.
19 The Star Wars Holiday Special.

Thats a lot of TV/video game playing. But you left out X-Wing and TIE Fighter. LOL

Actually, its kind of hard to watch the entire saga. If you are trying to preserve the whole ESB "I am your Father" suprise, its really tough without watching it 3-6, then 1-3, even though some have suggested a "Godfather II" style viewing, with I, IV, II, V, III, VI. That sounds interesting, and I might try that sometime when I get the chance.

The EWOK Film Trilogy

Wicket has learned to speak english (Galactic Standard?) in Battle for Endor, but there have been cop-out explanations to explain away the fact he doesn't speak it in Jedi.
On the other hand, if all the characters introduced in BFE laid low during the Imperial presence, why didn't Wilford Brimely's character try to contact the rebels or go looking for tech he could salvage when there would be tons of wrecked Imperial hardware lying about?
The fan film "The Invisible Enemy" would fit in nicely before Jedi.

I beleive officially, they take place before Jedi. But as you said, putting them in before or after Jedi both create continuity problems, so you can put them were you wish.

I believe that dinosaurs roamed the earth pretty much as most scientists say they did, millions of years before people. Personally I believe that the 'days' in Genesis aren't 24 hr periods, but periods of time. Some will take this to the extent to say that it is still the seventh day, but I'm not sure about that one. Remember that the sun wasn't created until the second or third day of creation(can't remember exactly and don't have my bible handy). Dinosaurs, early mammals such as mammoths and saber-toothed tigers were created, lived, and died out before God created people on the sixth day. Just my personal beliefs, your thoughts may vary. LOL

Batman Forever was horrible. It was an odd mix of sidescroller/fighting game that just didn't work. Batman Returns for the Lynx was also really bad, as was the NES version as well. Batman Returns for the SNES was good. Not incredibly great, but good, especially considering that yes, most Batman video games wern't very good.

MY CRUSH. and it was actually an accidental run in! and so we all ended up hanging out downtown for a while (about an hour or so) and then my friend gave him a ride home. and then right before he was leaving and said bye, he turned to me and said "do you guys wanna come in for a bit?" me being a moron i said no cuz i had to get home and take the dogs for a walk (i was housesitting) and he was like "oh. okay then." now the question is, did he invite us cuz he was being polite cuz we drove him home, or was it cuz he wanted to actually hang out? i need some guy expertise here.

Its actually hard to say. It depends on the individual guy and the situation. Some guys might think that asking you all up was polite, or he might of actually wanted to hang out with you all. I think that most typical guys wouldn't just ask anyone up to his place, So I would lean towards the hanging out choice. Sorry for the non-answer answer, but its the best I can think of.

Haven't played video games in ages. Kind of lost interest after N64 came out. Lacked the charm of the old Super Nintendo games. I miss playing the old Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World, along with the SNES video game adaptation of Batman Returns.

You enjoyed a Batman game?! Man, I love Batman - I even loved the Adam West series as a child - but I ain't NEVER loved a Batman videogame, including Batman Returns on the Megadrive. Is it the same game?

I don't know about the Megadrive Batman Returns, but the SNES Batman Returns is a Final Fight clone, a side scrolling beat-em-up. It was pretty good. The NES Batman game was pretty good, but not sure it aged well.

I've heard that the Ep I Ultimate Edition Soundtrack didn't sell up to expectations, so they cancelled the Ep II Ultimate Edition and have no plans for a Ep. III Ultimate. Its too bad. Because for all the problems with the prequels, the music was pretty good.

Coov is right, Zombie. You are saying you aren't insulting Christians, but then you turn around and do so. You continue to say that all Christians are rural, uneducated and stupid, and the urban, intelligent, educated people are all athests because they are smart and 'know better'. This seems to be one of your major arguments against Christianity and God.
Once again, as for evolution and the big bang, I still say there is just as much faith to believe that as there is for one to beleive in creation. I didn't say that science just made it up, but if you completely understanding of the orgins of the universe and have complete and irrefutable proof for evolution, then you have made the greatest discovery of all time. There is no 'proof'. only clues and hints. This is where faith comes in. You have faith that what someone else said about evolution is true. And you have faith that what science currently believes is true, even though in the end, it is just conjecture based on evidence that could be interpreted many different ways.

I have a real problem when you say that Christians are a bunch of superstitious, uneducated people, and that everyone who 'knows better' are atheists.

As for the statements that science, specificially evolution, is superior than faith in God because science can 'prove' evolution, the big bang, etc. I say that it takes just as much faith if not more to believe in evolution than creation. Ultimately, there is no real proof of the big bang, or no explination whatsoever in where the stuff came from that exploded in the bang. Its just accepted that since it doesn't involve God, it must be what 'really happened'.

Super ESB and ROTJ SNES Video Review
Time
Yes, the NES/SNES era was flooded with shoot-em-up platformers, and the Super Star Wars/Super ESB/Super ROTJ was of this type. But other stuff was around. I've always found this type of game very hard, and that is why I never did good in this era. Video games seem to go through fad games, and they get endless clones. In the Atari 2600, it was Pac-Man/Defender. Then in NES/SNES it was platformers, later fighting games.

Lucasfilm Exiting Movie Business?
Time
How much has Lucasfilm really done in its history? The original Star Wars Trilogy, Howard the Duck, Indiana Jones, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on TV, Willow, the prequels, and now a planned TV show. All this says to me is marketing stuff to cover up for the fact that Lucasfilm doesn't do more than one thing at once. Not counting stuff like ILM, that ends up spending most of its time working on stuff for other studios. But Lucasfilm doesn't really make much. Thats why we have things like the SE, the '04 DVDs, and the endless repackaging of the DVDs. They don't have much going on. They have always been about low output.
