An update:

Thanks to a friend over at the SW Trilogy Forums, I now have some higher-quality footage of the deleted scenes of the Lightsaber duels, with around a 70% higher bitrate than what is on the TPM DVD documentary.

With this higher-quality footage, I’ll now be able to do a much better upscale!

I am curious, what software and model are you using to upscale these? I am assuming these are open source models because they are visually balanced.

I haven’t downloaded it yet but how do you deal with inconsistencies in film grain and also film damage?

Some of the expanded mos eisley sequence was cool though mostly just the stuff they added in the background like ships taking off, making it feel more alive. Also, the 1997 version of Jabba was very entertaining in a way though not because it was good…

Interesting! I didn’t know that they were releasing anything on beta by that point! Is there a reason they chose to release these specifically in Mexico at the time?

Looks great! The AI seems to have sharpened this up nice. I would suggest though that you find a way to get rid of that weird effect it made on the noise where it thought it was detail. I am curious though, what source is this?

Do you know who, I want it too

You can get them on the star wars trilogy forums, you just have to make an account.

Agreed, the 97 edition is better and also more interesting to me.

This is awesome and you can find more extra shots in the trailer!

Oh also we must name drop the title in every film!
Episode 1: Yoda to Mace Windu at the funeral: “We still have yet to discover the true phantom menace!”
Episode 2: Anakin in the arena: “It’s an attack of the clones!”
Episode 3: Obi Wan to Yoda in the jedi temple: “It’s like some sort of revenge of the sith!”
You get the idea.
Lets also add references to the original trilogy but only when you watch the series in chronological order.

We must make it appeal to an older and more modern audience.
1: We must add cursing in between several lines to make it more edgy.
2: Make the characters more sexually active. We can add through away lines like on Hoth when Leia kisses Luke, we can add a line of him saying “She kissed me with tongue!” or Han and Leia’s kiss on the falcon right before Threepio interupts, we can add a line from Han like “Do you like what you are feeling?”
3: Drugs. We can add AI generated or even Computer Generated scenes showing that Han’s a bit of a stoner.
4: Last but not least, more violence! When someone gets shot we can add crazy blood splatters and chunks of meat flying out of people.

I’m curious where these rumors come from. Despite them being proven untrue, people still insist they remember stuff like luke missing the grappling hook
