"Hoooow is that possible..."
Time
I definitely agree with Hurin. Vader KNEW about Luke before he talked to the emporer. He probably only lied to glean the most information he could about what the emporer knew at that point. Still, it does mess with the continuity.

Also, there was no way Vader could have known for sure he didn't cause Padme's death. The person he trusts most has told him it was his fault, and he probably has no way of rationalizing it any other way, especially after her funeral. So Vader thinks the baby died with her until he encounters a very intriguing rebel. I think he had an inkling Luke was his son right then, and confirmed it later when he finds out Luke's very obvious last name. As to why Yoda and Obi-wan didn't change his name when they whisked him into hiding is a little odd, but they knew no one would be looking for him when then, and he just had to be out of the way.

My guess is Obi and Yoda hoped to have him fully trained before he ever met Vader, and by that point there would be no reason to hide him.

Grand Moff Tarkin (3 on the scale):

You are the dark side's bureaucrat, a bloodless executive who gives the order to exterminate billions of souls. You have murdered everyone who has seen your "Grand Moff", although it is less hairy than it was in it's prime.

This is doubly funny because I am a woman, and my head probably isn't the "Moff" to which this is refers.

Which of the 6 films is your favorite?
Time
I had to vote The Empire Strikes Back as number one. It's the one I've seen the most for good reason. ESB had the best acting, plot to action ratio, and dialogue of all six. ESB is also the most emotionally jerking and dangerous in terms of the characters motives. I really saw no downside to this film; as someone stated before, it's perfection.

Second place is a tricky choice. You could make an excellent case for both A New Hope and Revenge of the Sith here. That said, in my opinion Revenge of the Sith edges out just slightly (even though there are large problems with the plot movement and dialogue) because of the sheer emotions I went through while I watched it. I was horrified and entranced. It sickened me and left me speechless. I was stunned. Disturbed. In awe. Disheartened. It's hard to describe what one goes through when watching a movie like Revenge of the Sith.

A New Hope is a movie one needs after Sith. It is exactly what it says it is: hope. It is a fresh start with a character (Luke) who is arcadian and unspoiled by the war and inhumanity of the empire. A New Hope cherishes and celebrates life. Not to mention it is, of course, what kicked off everyone's love for this series. That being said, the pacing and character development far outshine Sith.

Close fourth is Return of the Jedi, the climax and conclusion of the original trilogy. It is an excellent movie and fair culmination to the plot, but overall it does not maintain the simple elegance of A New Hope or the sheer supremacy of Empire Strikes Back.

Distant fifth is The Phantom Menace. No question it suffered though a retched reliance on CG. There were several casting decisions that I did not agree with, namely Jake Lloyd as Anakin, who I felt did a poor job of it. But then again, I'm almost never pleased with children's acting. It takes a great script to make it work, which unfortunately, The Phantom Menace did not have. The plot did not involve us at all in the lives of the characters, and even more deplorably, neither Darth Maul nor Obi-Wan received characterization or development at all. This is not even discussing Jar Jar Binks.

In far last place stumbles Attack of the Clones. Horrible acting, especially on the part of Hayden Christensen. Horrible script. What plot it contains is only an afterthought to the action/ CG shots. Attack of the Clones barely deserves to be called Star Wars when compared to the original trilogy. Whoever voted for this on an original trilogy forum was either just trying to be funny or just trying to stir up trouble.

How to Burn to DVD?
Time
Hello all!

I've finished downloading some excellent sets over on myspleen, and now I need to get them onto my DVDs so I can watch them properly!

The trouble comes where I have no idea how to do this. I have blank DVDs and a nice burner, but no real software. And I don't suppose I can just drop the files on the DVD and hope it works on my DVD player.

Can anyone give me some advice about how to do this?

Thanks,
Birdie

PS. Sorry in advance if this has already been asked elsewhere.

.: The Zion DVD Project :. (Released)
Time
Hello Zion,

I was just wondering how your work is progressing (I'm sure we're all eager to know). I'm very excited about your project, and can only hope you might be nearing a release date for ANH. I don't mean to be nosy or try to be ungrateful (I'm so so very very greateful you've put your time, energy, and money into this) but I'm itching to see the some of the new X0 tranfers. Perhaps a few new screenshots of what you're working on?

Thanks again,
Birdie

I haven't seen an update from you in a long while.

Yes, I'm quite interested in how far along he is as well. Although, it looks like a lot has been happening recently, and it seems like most are caught in the evil clutches of Darth Real Life. Still, it couldn't hurt to tell us a few updates, MBJ.

It looks like the last thing going on for you was buying the dual layer burner in March (?). Anything new going on with that?

Thanks,
Birdie

I have to admit the isolated score and menu features that have been lauded here really drew me in!

I jumped on the torrent (still 15 hours to go!) and I can't wait to watch it.

I'm curious about how I need to burn this to get it to play on my dvd player/tv. I have a DVD burner and some blank DVDs, so that's fine, but what software (if any) do I need to be able to do it, and is there a proceedure I need to follow? I don't want to mess it up. -_-;

Thanks,
Birdie

Hello!

I'm new to the forums here, and I'm really excited about all the new projects coming up... especially those using the new X0 transfers! Yours and Zion's projects look absolutely amazing.

I can't tell you how awesome it is that you're doing all of this, and I'm really grateful.

I haven't seen the Original Version since I was in fourth grade (a long, long time ago), and it's very difficult for me to remember. This has made me doubly excited that there are actually people out there committed to producing great sets of a great film.

Keep up the laudable work, and please keep us posted with what's going on.

Thanks,
Birdie
