Hey,
I am new here so please go easy on me
My name is Neil and I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland. I was born in 1980 and so the Star Wars films were a huge part of my childhood, my brother and I spent pretty much every day playing with our Star Wars toys, imagining we were in a galaxy far, far away from Belfast's troubles These days I play with different toys, mainly Soviet analog synths, cameras and now printing squeegees.
Last year I began screenprinting in the Belfast Print Workshop in order to launch a photography magazine and accidentally fell in love with screenprinting in the process. Since then I have been honing my skills and have recently just completed my first Star Wars related prints. I always loved Han Solo's blaster and my toy blaster was one of my most prized toys as a kid (until I buried it and coincidentally lost it in my back garden.) When I got to grips with printing I knew the blaster was an image that I wanted to print as i wanted to have a Star Wars print up on my wall that was a little bit ambiguous and a bit dark and edgy I suppose.
Anyway, I hope you guys like it and that i am ok to post about it here. I am really pleased with how it has turned out and along with the original red and black limited edition of 30 prints also printed a varied edition of 10 black and silver prints and a few heavily layered unique works.. You can see other blaster imagery on my site at http://shop.aarckandaawe.com/
Let me know what you guys think
Thanks
Neil
