and considering this is my first real project thread I can expect nothing but beligerence from either side to turn pre-production on anything I touch into a trainwreck. …

You destroyed any beligerence about one year ago, when you did exactly the same thing you do here:
Announcing a list of projects, said something about a planned time schedule, thrown that time schedule away…announced another time schedule…
After that and your behavior, I personally think the German airport BER is more likely to be opened and finished, before you even get anything into any preview status, that shows your work.
Not a half backed, aspect ratio desaster you had once as a preview, with some kind of internet downloaded Anime episode and movie trailer “DVD preview” that not only showed that you do not care about what you present, nor about any tried help.
How can you even expect to be taken serious when coming up with the same nonsense again?

So, why are you insulting, wwoth word and behavior the ones doing hard work in their project?

available only to donors, how is this different than selling copies than?

Let’s see, that question is easy:
The donors are needed to obtain and scan the thing at all, so that not only one person, but a group of persons can share the price.
So every just pays a bit of the price to preserve the print.
While selling copies is intended to make more money, than just the essential needed amount.

Info: Analog Releases of Films That Contain Deleted, Extended, & Alternate Footage That've Never Been Released on DVD/BluRay
Time

At the moment all my three UK Roar tapes are in Italy to be digitalized as soon as temperature dropped and possible… My fourth tape unfortunately is teared apart (edit: just checked: my vcr is broken, and kills tapes now…) … So at the moment I cannot even make a small mobile device video. But as soon as some proof has been digitalized and avaible.

Another movie:
Cujo
At least old German Warner VHS tape contained the Theatrical version, with longer erotic scene.
https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=483823

There also exist an DVD release in Germany that is based on a bootleg that brought these scenes into the so called “director’s cut”… But it is a horrible work.

The UK tape of the Movie “Roar” (1981) by Noel Marshall with Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith contains much dialogue scenes in english, that are missed on the US BD Release and only inserted in German language on the English audio track of the German BD release.

The page might be reliable but until I see actual images from the VHS itself and not some production photos being passed off as extra footage. I don’t believe it.

You really might be right. I got a Box Set at eBay, and the tape indeed is not longer, but in Full Screen as claimed. So, that release is to be kept with caution. It MAY be that I got a different Tape inside the Box, because the Box was not new… so somebody might have changed the Tape, to keep the original one.

The US theatrical cut of “Yellow Submarine” has not been released in a digital format. It appears on VHS and LD only.

https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=1064

I think this says the Theatrical Cut was released on a German DVD.
https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=1064

That’s possible… I would have understand it that the German DVD and VHS releases followed the demands to release the version with the missing song. But also the German languaged branch of movie-censorship has an entry that the first german DVD contained the Theatrical Cut, while the new release contains the reconstruction…

Edit: I assume the old DVD only contains the reconstructed version… Next week I may be able to tell… Thanks to eBay… 😄

I claim that whoever said there is 18 seconds difference is wrong. All those shots are production photos that can be found in The film and the legend book. Even you can see the attempt to hide the spine in the book in the last shot. Dracula has always been the same on all formats nothing has been added to the theatrical cut. The images can be found on pg 55,62,63,100,121 and 132&133

The page is normally extremely reliable and very pernickety regarding shortened versions. So I trust them more than your claim. They also admit, that the pictures where not taken with a capture card, but as photos from the television.

I’m curious about the 18 seconds longer in 6 scenes in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I thought all releases were the same. Is their any information on the differences.

In German: https://www.schnittberichte.com/schnittbericht.php?ID=1124

But I think it is easy enough to translate the descriptions with Google translate.

Is the orange slip-case full bitrate DTS Japanese disc still available? And furthermore, does this issue have a full bitrate DTS track too?

The slip case version is not easy to get, just if you are lucky at ebay.

The shown picture is not of a Full Bitrate DTS Version.

It is arguable, if scanning and remastering a video could be called creative work.

If a judge decides that putting days to work as creative work, the specific version could be qualify as copyrighted, while the movie itself is not, so everyone could still share the old not copyrighted masters.

I think I read somewhere that companies who have a license to release a movie, still needs specific video master licenses, if they don’t want to make their own.

We could make a test: you upload it, share it, and then we call criterion, and see what happens… 😄 (just a joke)

As I understand, the new transfer features some things that were not in the original theatrical Version? In this case it may be under copyright law.

http://www.copylaw.com/new_articles/PublicDomain.html:

Whenever you rely on the PD status of a work, it is important to make sure that the particular version you want to use is actually in the public domain.
Later versions or adaptations (e.g., translations, revisions, annotated and illustrated editions) of PD works may be protected by a separate copyright.

What’s with https://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#104a ?

So, a restoration may have a different copyright status than the orlriginal work, if I understand that correctly.
Also the copyright law seems to have some hints that copyrights in other countries may also apply in US territories. So, it may also be possible that the restoration also work is protected die to the chain: protection in original country => protection in the US…

Many thanks for replying on that somewhat dated topic, MrBrown.

So your introduced “PIBF-92119” was a typo then and doesn’t exist, correct?

In terms of the two Japanese DTS releases being the same or not, guess there’s once again only one way to find out …

Luckily they are not expensive, especially if one is in Japan anyway with thus moderate shipping costs. 😉

Yeah… I made a typo. 😃

Well. I have enough Terminator 2 DVDs at the moment. But if you go to buy the PIBF-1219, go on, I won’t hold you back. 😄

Maybe I have the Japanese PIBF-92119 DVD with the Full Rate DTS Track here next Month.

Are you sure about that catalog number? Because I’ve “only” found the two so far which is confusing enough actually to have again two different releases with DTS included apparently:

PIBF-91219 and PIBF1219.

Besides from that - again - if that is true, then the “always been right” user DiscLord must have been wrong back then when he stated “For example, the original T2 DVD theatrical cut used the 5.1 mix made for the Kodak/ORC CDS (Cinema Digital Sound) system - no other DVD and no LaserDisc ever used that mix.” in this thread.

At5 least I am sure the mentioned DVD (PIBF-91219) has a full bitrate DTS Track. It is possible thet the other release MAY be the same disc, just different Cover and no sleeve. But That I cannot tell. I only have the one with the sleeve.

If it is the CDS mix, I am not really able to confirm, becaus eI don’t have a true authentic CDS mix to compare with.
But someone stated that the big difference between the old mix and the newer mix is in the beginning, when in the war some resitance men got killed in the original mix there were musik, percussions to be heard.
While they [the percussions] are missed on every newer DVD release and also on most of the BluRay releases they were spotted on the mentioned japanese Full bitrate DTS, first US DVD release (Dolby), and also on a french HD-DVD and DVD and BD release, prior the Special Edition was seamless branched integrated on newer releases, and the audio mix seemed to be unified to the one without percussions on that scene.

Help: looking for... The Land Before Time (1988) - full original uncut version
Time

Sorry, I have no possibility to watch or even record it, but, also I don’t think that it need to be uncut. Did you add commercial breaks to your calculation?
I think Super RTL has breaks about every half an hour and each brake is about 5 minutes…

Quote:
In einem Land vor unserer Zeit – Die Dinos kommen
Zeichentrickabenteuer, USA 1988, (58/75 Min.)

So, if I am not wrong the 58 minutes are running time after deleting the commercials from the time…

Beside all the negativity on Trump… I somehow doubt that Hillary Clinton really would have been a better president, in her own ways…

Maybe even then Trump situation could be something, that may bring some positive effect to the way politicans start to think and see ther damn duty as politicans.

In one way, even if I don’t agree with Trump in more than 99% of his statements, he may be right in one thing: It is time to rethink what politics should be about, and how politicans should see their duty.

I agree to an extent. I do like the message a Trump presidency sends to the career politicians, but at this point I don’t think the message is worth the rest of the package.

I have to agree to that, but I, even if I am German, try NOT to see only the bad side.
I really would appreciate a more constructive way of turning the heads of the standard politician, instead of tearing a country apart.

@TVs Frink:
Yes, he WANTS to shut down the United States from the rest of the world, but as he tries it shows that it won’t work. And that it is no longer possible to make local/country based politics without watching how it affects the world politics.

Like even the building of his beloved wall to Mexico even may bring more illegal permanent Mexican immigrants:
At the moment there are saisonal migrants, that come to America to provide work, and travel back to Mexico to live… If they won’t provide a satisfying work or are as cheap as they are, nobody would hire them. But, if the wall is build and crossing the border would become hard, they only would cross once to the USA, and stay, because it would be insane to go back.
If they won’t do that and everyone would (as in Trumps dream) hire the more wanting US workers the price of the products would rise, so the things would get more expensive.

A thing I really agreed with Trump while his campaign:
TTIP is bad.
The influence of some worlds panning companies to the politics would be really, really bad for the people.
But my English is not well enough to describe the reasons.

I’d prefer nothing to change to whatever the hell this is.

The point is: There are enough changes in the flow, that if some things don’t change, they will been washed away.

Also the world is getting “smaller” because every place is easier to reach.

So, even changes somewhere else has their effects.

Also… it is easier to get news from around the world, than from the other end of a city…

I somehow doubt that a qualified woman could possibly be as bad as this absolute shitshow, but to each their own…

Sure, it is easy to doubt my POV, but:
I assume her way of politics would only be the old same way of politics… she really won’t change anything, nor even really try hard.

Trump, at least, is trying, even if he still has to learn that the president does not stand above the law and constitution of the country he is president of.

I think, that with Hillary Clinton another years of nothing new would happen, but after Trump people and politicians (worldwide) should start to rethink the way politics are heading worldwide.

So… maybe… Trumps way of make america grief again can change the world politics… while Hillary Clintons way won’t change anything.
