Yeah, but is there really any need for a big DVD cover if it's possible to fit artwork and text on a small one?


I don't have time to post a review, unfortunately, so thanks very much Trooperman! I also wanted to say that all the changes you have done in your Shroud of the Dark Side edit are EXCELLENT, and I'm sure it will be even better if you include changes from this version.

I have four different edits of Ep. II now: Clone War, Path to the Dark Side, the “re-edit”, and the matinee edit. Of course I also have the plans for RebelScumb’s unreleased edit, thanks to Mr. Freeman. This will allow me to incorporate any superior changes that any one of these folks have made. The one I’m missing is the one by the “Phantom Editor”. Could anyone who’s seen it let me know if there are any worthwhile cuts or changes, however small?


There are a lot of small cuts that have been made throughout the entire movie, so it would take a while to list them all. From what I rememberer, many (or at least some) of the changes are things that are different from your version. There is also some dialouge altererations you maybe could "borrow" from his edit, so I think it's worth to get a copy of it yourself.
By the way, the change I told you about Padme's scream in the droid factory some months ago is not my idea, but came from this edit (I was the one who sent Rikter a copy), so you give credit to the right person if you are going to use that idea.

3. I was wondering if you could change the coloring of the crawl to match the more yellowish color of the original trilogy crawls (for more consistency).


If I'm correct, the coloring of the crawl was changed to yellow in the THX remastered editions. In the previous version, the crawl had a more orange color. In the SE, it remained yellow (I think), and was then changed back to orange in the 2004 DVD. Not sure which version you want your crawl to match, though

Is it possible to add a scream from Padmé just before Anakin gets hit in the head in the droid factory? This way, the reason why the robot arm hits him is because he is distracted by Padmé (otherwise he should have been able to avoid that arm because he is a Jedi) Maybe also add a shot when he turns around after the scream (from earlier in the sequence).




BTW, I still say leave the muzzle flash out entirely. It isn't really realistic to have a bright white flash everytime a blaster fires. It's not like they have any powder to burn. The only light from a blaster should come from the beam itself.

I think the flash only happens when the laser beams from the blaster hit something, and not when the blaster is fired.
