Withnail better not be messing with us.
Withnail better not be messing with us.
Wait they fixed some things but put back old errors that had previously been corrected? I’m impressed.
That was the most emotional the PT has ever been ALOL
Probably?
I see what you mean, I guess custom cover art would be the way to go.
Why would there be one?
‘The Rise of Skywalker screened early for dying Star Wars fan’:-

^ fair play to Lucasfilm / Disney for doing that.
Fair play. But they could have kept it behind closed doors instead of making it more PR.
Anakin already murdered a whole village out of “anger” in AOTC. So killing one extra guy is nothing. It’s not a turning point or a good example of characterisation. Is Dooku more human than the sand people and therefore a darker step along the path? Does Anakin even learn anything new about himself or the dark side? We may never know. There’s no apparent easier path, or any obvious seductive power.
Luke at least used dark powers to allow his easy access to Jabba’s palace, and fell afoul of his abuse of the Jedi mind trick. When he lashes out at Palpatine it’s the same, his temper does more harm than good. Then at the end with Vader it’s clear the strength he gains allows him to win the fight. But instead of seeing this as a great advantage he’s the better man and corrects these mistakes. If he was weaker he might have let the victory influence him in a different way, that’s why these moments in ROTJ work.
Vader’s redemption is certainly iffy, but in the context of acting selflessly instead of selfishly it’s enough. As long as you ignore his supposed child murdering days. In a broader sense he’s finally giving up all that power to remember his humanity. It’s less about killing one last bad guy and more about the sacrifice.
Jesus Christ…
I mean I kinda think Warwick Davis doesn’t look old enough there but yeah that seems to be what’s going on.
This kinda makes me want it more…

But then maybe I will wait to see if it’s patched.
His lines have at least been edited or cut to fit. But then so many of the new films have trailers with random sound bites that don’t make the final release.
Nobody talks about it because at the end of SW they don’t defeat The Emperor and Darth Vader gets away, Luke doesn’t learn the ways of the Force as promised, and numerous other threads are ripe for sequel.
A lot of this stuff was off-limits to the EU writers as far as I recall. There were brief mentions of Uncle Owen and Old Ben as you say, but I don’t remember much else. There’s a brief description of how the Old Republic fell in one of the old Technical Journals, but it basically said it was too big and too corrupt and eventually crumbled from within.
Also this kinda thing

Normal people that make up the general audience aren’t going to come on places like this sorry everyone XD
So I randomly thought about this interview between George and Leonard Maltin. It was on the last VHS release of the OOT (I always fast forwarded it as a kid). Interestingly George seems kinda relaxed here, and not awkward and bitter. Maybe because this is before hate towards him because of the Special Editions and the prequels. The flannel shirts are also absent…

It’s pretty brief and was originally split over 3 tapes. However some tid-bits for this thread:
He says he first wrote his own space opera, inspired by Flash Gordon. Did he ever write his own version though?
Still claims SW is the “first act” of a much larger script. Also mentions the alleged “back story” about Anakin’s wife.
Says he’s writing all 3 prequels at once, but then during pre-production of one of them (maybe EpII?) he sees all the designers at work and says something like “I better start on this script”…
Claims the twins reveal and the redemption of Vader was always part of the back-story.
Uh okay so in ROTJ they escape the Ewok trap when R2D2 uses a tiny saw. But is that weird flashing light supposed to be the flickering edge of the blade? It looks weird and bad even if it’s just part of the device.
This is a bad clip and they should feel bad.
Temple of Doom is vastly superior to anything in the PT.
He’s been there for a long time.
Daisy Ridley is probably the worst actress of her generation.
I was going to make a joke about getting someone with real acting chops like Emilia Clarke but then I remembered she is in a SW movie. There are many worse female leads out there so I don’t see what you mean, beyond the standard hyperbole.
Hi
George?
The Captain America and Home Alone ones were better.

Oh yeah he’s mentioned this place before on the channel. Talking about Adywan’s stuff. I think I know which member they are but I’ll keep quiet if it’s not common knowledge.
Auralnauts are releasing some music remixes this week, so far this is my favourite
