There’s the obvious of course: Gustav Holst - Mars

For anyone who has never looked into the use of temp score in any Star Wars this is very much worth its own watch as well.

There’s a channel called Sideways that talks about this kind of thing too, in how it annoys the academics in music to hear people want to be come film score composers.

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

If only the prequels had any real creativity in them. Instead it’s all embarrassing ideas that good editors had the sense to cut from the OOT, mixed with George’s idea of fanservice. You could argue it was at least the creator’s original vision, but then how much of the original vision is really his to begin with? After all George has always been more of an accountant than an artist. See? You can argue this either way just the same. Endless circular debates.

Having just watched the Mandalorean, which was graded by the same colorist as the OT, I can see what they are going for. It’s revisionist, but in a less radical way.The Mandalorean is awesome by the way.

Would you say they are putting everything in line with the grading of Rogue One? Standardising / flattening the colors…

Yes, I think so. The Mandalorean in particular has a very barren look to it. I think the Star Wars movie/tv universe will look more gritty from now on.

Yeah that’s about in line with what I suspected.
