Who Is Going To Buy The 2006DvD's ?
Time
Who is planning to buy the new 2006dvd's ?
I Will be personally holding back on buying them until i have seen if they are an improvement on any of the bootleg's
that are available, im not too worried about them not being anamorphic and in 2.0 stereo as thats what i remember them as anyways.
Also will the non OT discs of the updated films in the 2006dvds be even more changed since 2004?
i guess its wait and see to find out if George Lucas has come a step closer to what we all want, or will he give us substandard versions
im not holding out much hope....
but thats all i can do
hope.

Selectable crawl on new DVD? Or just the old one?
Time
I just watched it last week, and they showed the clip of the fight over the sarlaac pit, and it definitely wasnt the 1997 version.
then after seeing that clip i noticed it was not the 1997 versions that they sourced for the clips, but maybe the
LD's or original source? mind you when the show the original crawl from 77' it doesnt look as good as the rest of the clips, id say they will
put in the ANH crawl with the 2006 dvds

Ah I See, Why Does that not surprise me.
Why is it that the people who created 'Empire Of Dreams' can do a better
job remastering than the people working(loose term) on the 2006DVD's? Bloody George Lucas!
Why cant he just give us what we want, then we can all be happy and he can go and create whatever other rubbish he wants
to e.g. star wars tv show in 2007 and more changes to his artistic visions until he has milked all originality out of Star Wars
and no one cares anymore!

.: The XØ Project - Laserdisc on Steroids :. (SEE FIRST POST FOR UPDATES) (* unfinished project *)
Time
Yay For The XO Project, Kudos to you im really looking foward to the day when i can watch them!
After Looking at The new Screenshots On StarWars.com for the 2006 OT dvds, im now sure that Lucas is going to release the worst looking version of the OT on DVD. Then bring out the 2007 versions where even more gets changed and force people into submission.
im just glad that there is a place like OT.com where like minded individuals can come together and truly create a great version of The OT on Dvd worth watching!
thanks XO Project

Episode V: What Has Changed?
Time

I personally think that replacing the Emperor was one of the most needed changes.

Even Though Replacing the emperor in ESB-2004 does add a bit of well needed continuity, the emperor still doesnt look very much
like the ROTJ version. Plus they have changed some of the dialogue which was'nt needed and removes tension from the climax with
the Vader/Luke Fight at the end of the film.
Ive always liked that weird woman with the superimposed monkey eyes for some reason. Ha

Just Saw The Unaltered Trilogy For The First Time...
Time
It's Good to see that there are still younger people that can watch the original trilogy and prefer it over the new 2004
versions, after all the advancements in special effects over the last 30 years i must say that the original trilogy does look a little dated at times,BUT! as with the New Horrid 1,2,3 trilogy george lucas has sacrificed a story of in favour of showing off these advancements,
i myself did not mind the SE's for the updates, except for the obvious changes Greedo Shooting first, Jabba appearing in 4 And the Change of the Ewok Song in 6. But the 2004 versions were absolutely sickening! has george lucas not heard the outcry of fans(alot of them) since the SE's?! Now I Am Looking to buy the OT on Dvd off ebay as i would not want any of my money going towards the ego that is George Lucas! If Anyone knows of the best version to get please contact me
thanks
would picasso change his much loved original works in favour of new art styles, i think not!
