^^ If you look closely enough in several shots, you can already see that the side guns on the AT-ATs do shoot. I'm sure they'll be more noticeable and all properly-aligned when Ady's done with them though.

So this past week I've been going back and reading all the older posts in '08 (only at pg 131) and I have to say it has been a fun journey so far. Learning about the earlier stages of ESB:R, the suggestions and collaborating back then (despite continually seeing the exact same suggestions over n over... "welcome to Ady's world"), the progress, and knowing where it is today.

For me it feels like reading a director's commentary for my favorite film, especially anytime Ady would chime in. It's interesting to think that there are certain things happening now where back then he probably didn't imagine or believe he would be doing; most uncertainties, if not all, are probably vanished too (how to fix something).

I've learned more than I thought I already knew, so I will definitely continue to read. It just makes me even more excited to be a part of this :)

My only wish is being able to skip to any specific page number we wanted, but bookmarks are fine for now XD

And I was just wondering, has anyone else downloaded every uploaded ESB:R segment that Ady did, put them in order, and watched the film this way? I did, haha, multiple times - I'd take Ady's partial clips over my dvd/blu-ray, any day! :D

Glad you enjoyed it. I had the most fun on this forum at the initial stages of the edit. Joining in the great debates (ie flipper... green colour blasters for at ats etc...). When the process as you say is collaborative. Once Ady has decided on his changes... that is it. This forum has not been that active in terms of contributions since about 2010.

But every once and awhile... Ady throws a "what do you think guys" in here.

This forum probably won't really heat up till after the edit is released and people start finding more things to be fixed.

BTW. Are we still on target for a 2013 release? Ady seems to be adding in more and more stuff all the time.

There is more side gun action in ESB:R

What about side boob??

Great minds think alike! I totally was going to make a side boob request but you beat me to it.

If you think about it side boob was all the rage in late 70's early 80s. Totally would fit in. ;)

I looked through that MovieMistakes and it's amazing how many blatant continuity errors there are in these films. What's even more amazing is there were actually several that did not click with me before, despite the countless times I've seen these movies XD I'm glad that Ady has much better eyes and will be taking the time to correct all of these problems though (or most of them, because I can understand some of them would be very difficult to fix and/or not worth the trouble).

Question for you guys, how many doors/entrances do you think are in that Cloud City room where Lea is pacing around by the window? Originally, I used to think there was just one, but not long ago I realized that there are actually two. The first one is where Han walks in, and the second one I believe is where Chewie and later Lando walk in. Whether it is meant to be 1 door or 2 doors, I see an error either way and when I get time, I'll try to map them out in case it's worth looking into.

Ohhhh no!!!! Not this again!

Just kidding .mac.

this was gone over about 3 years ago about 15000 posts. I think Ady has settled on what he wants to do. Also.... I don' t think we ever found a solution.

Oh man... this is bringing me back to one of the many great debates.... green lasers etc....

I am in the camp that I always thought that it was a regular SD tower. It doesn't make sense visually to me in the reveal process that it is the Executor tower.

Has anyone thought that we ALL could be right? It could be a case that the tower filmed for that shot IS the Executor's but it was edited in a way that it is meant visually on screen to be a SD tower.

Many times shots were filmed and not used in the way they were originally intended for editing purposes.

Just a thought....

Couple of things.....

1) I am absolutely gutted my name won't be in the credits of ESB:R. I even gave ady my real name and it was the thing I was looking most forward to.

I was so very jealous that my name wasn't in the credits of ANH:R.

Oh well, I guess it is the result of this project taking so long. Wasn't the cut off Nov. of 2009?

Anyways....

2) This whole sinking up of the ROTJ:R (OT) with the ST may be a moot point. We all know how long these things take to come out. We are less than 3 years away from EP VII and Ady isn't even done ESB:R yet.

I would be willing to bet EP:VII comes out before ROTJ:R and ANH:R:HD.

We only need to see EP:VII to find out what decisions they made and then ADY should he choose to, adjust Revisited.

IMO, sticking to the ROTJ story line will cause no conflict. Which I think ADY was going to do anyway. Ie. Leia is sister, DS destroyed, Emporer and Vader die.... the only thing I could think of is that Boba Fett lives???

Hello Everyone,

I debated whether or not to watch this clip. However, I could not help myself.

Amazing work Adywan. I love how the AT-ST's were in there. Especially since there were shots dropped from the original release because they could not finish them in time.

The second thing that stood out was the AT-AT motion. It looks amazing and with the split screen you really notice the difference.

The coloring looks great and I didn't realize how washed out the AT-AT's in the bluray look.

Keep up the good work and I think I can wait the next 12 weeks or so without any more videos. ;)

Can't wait for the finished product.

I think the whole color argument is pointless for the Revisited series. This is a special edition, not a preservation. That means that if Adywan likes some other colors better, he should alter the colors according to his taste. If he accepts others' opinions, he can do so. But to adhere strictly to the original colors when he's introducing new special effects including altered lighting and alteration of other colors seems to be a waste of effort. If folks want original colors, they should look to projects like DJ's/You_Too's and Harmy's. If they want a special edition, they should get used to the idea that there will be many elements that are not present in the original.

I don't mean to be rude to anyone. Just making a point. My apologies if I offend.

You do make a good point.

I was only asking the questions cause ADY has spent a lot of time talking and trying to find sources for the original colours.

Matt.

My question is: How do you/Puggo know that Puggo's 16mm is unfaded? Is it standard for film that when it fades, it red shifts (as opposed to blue shifts or else fades uniformly)?

All I'm saying is that I wonder how one declares any such print as unfaded. How can you be certain that Puggo's print is the actual original color?

Please, forgive my ignorance.

Personally, I'd rather defer to Adywan's grasp of common sense regarding proper coloring over relying on the color of potentially improperly maintained prints.

Suffice it to say, Adywan... to quote Star Trek IV: I "feel safer about your guesses than most other peoples' facts."

I am glad someone asked this question, because I to was wondering how it was determined that the 16mm film is the correct unfaded colour.

I know, in reading articles, that film ages even when kept under lock and key in a vault.

However, in the age of computers it can be corrected. Film makers such as Kodak ect... know how the colour shifts based upon the degradation of the chemicals of the film itself. They even know it down to the date of manufacture and type of film that was used. Using that data, the computer can automatically correct.

Was something like this used for Puggo's 16mm film? Is there a color distortion from the 35mm to 16mm conversion when it was originally made? Is there a reason the 1997 ESB:SE release is not being used for colour matching?

Again, this is not meant as a criticism just some questions into the technical aspects behind the project.

I to am anxious to view the film as close to the original colour as possible.

NEWS FROM ADY: Recently he attempted to upload another video, this time using a 25 second leader as he used on his last YouTube vid (which worked) but FB denied this one as they have his past ones and gave his account a temp ban....so he'll be absent for a little bit due to that. On the up side however, he has re-rendered all the files damaged in the Great "April Fools" Hard-Drive Crash of 2012....so NOTHING has been lost.

What?...we've been denied a new clip again?! Damn those pesky Facebook kids!

However, thank the maker nothing was lost where the main files were concerned. :)

Thanks for the update on this.

I was just about to post a comment on this but of course someone has already beaten me!

I to am surprised that they used the words "revisited" and not redone, updated, fixed. I think it was a deliberate nod.

What I am looking forward to on these Blu-rays is that after 3 levels of Quality Control what they will still leave in. It is quite obvious they haven't fixed the colour issue.

I think that the original trilogyhas been tinted blue so that when George Lucas looks at them through his rose tinted glasses the colour is correct.

But that is just me. Perhaps the blue rays will save Adywan some time.

PS. I find the comments hilarious. Especially the guy who says he doesn't care about the colour of the light sabers ect.... and the nutter comment too.

Revenge Of The Cut - Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith (* unfinished project *)
Time

Never posted before in here but I have been following this edit.

I am so glad you are thinking of doing away with the death of Padme. It has annoyed me to no end that she dies of a broken heart. I mean seriously, we all know 100s of people that have ended relationships and no one has died from it.

Padme living at the end works fine. We as the audience don't need to know what happens to her. Just that she goes into hiding on Alderaan. In ROTJ we are told she died when Leia was very young. Thus it works and does not contradict the OT.

So thank you cutter, I hope you can make it work.

I don't think you need to cut Anakin saying "you died in childbirth". As a wise Jedi Master once said.. "always in motion is the future".

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

There has been a lot of talk about what had been planned for the huge space battle.

B-Wings doing more, Ships on Fire, Rebel Blocade runners ramming ships.

Does anyone have a link to storyboards or other material?

I just discovered that there was a The Making of Return of the Jedi Book from 1983.

http://www.amazon.com/Making-Star-Wars-Return-Jedi/dp/034531235X

Anyone have a copy of this?

I am sure Ady when he goes to re-do the big space battle will draw upon the ideas that the original creative team had come up with but couldn't do.

Hello all,

I had no idea that Ady was building an AT-AT model to film. What is he planning to reshoot?

I know he is building/built a Fine Molds millenium falcon, Asteroid crater, wampa, wampa cave.

Is Ady still building a rebel hanger bay and I think I remember he was planning on building an Imperial Star Destoyer but I think that may have been postponed?
