STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

Have an idea for a version of Revisited (and eventually for EMPIRE and JEDI)...

STAR WARS REVISITED - THE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE

The lights dim. The curtains part. The audio sounds like the acoustics of an auditorium, with that familiar movie theater echo. And the image has that film-like projection quality.

Seeing STAR WARS theatrically is pure magic. And a version like this would be a fun novelty, and might just recreate some of that magic.

Anyway. Just an idea.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

It's been a while since I've spoken up here, so I thought I'd clear my throat and make a suggestion that will no doubt be ridiculed and shot down quickly.

In Cloud City, when the poop is hitting the fan and Lando makes an announcement to all his citizens, I suggest the two new SE shots from '97 (the two people in the hallway stopping to listen, and the big shot outside) be flipped in order so that the outside shot comes first then the shot of the two people stopping. My reason for this is the two people who stop probably wouldn't bother stopping just because Lando is making an announcement. They have places to be. However, by moving that shot to a second or two later it makes more sense that they stop because they just heard that the Empire has taken control of the city. This is something that has always bothered me but I've never heard anybody else bring it up. So, even if Ady doesn't fix it, and even if everybody here thinks I'm wrong, I hope I've planted a subconscious awareness of this problem and I hope it jumps out at everybody when you watch it from now on and causes you all many sleepless nights. Unless of course it gets fixed.

Also, I just want to make sure I'm in the end credits on this one, too.

Thansk, Ady! You da man!

Incredible. This is absolutely my favorite cut of the film. This is the only version I will be watching until Lucasfilm wakes up and makes a better version, which I doubt will ever happen. I own the official DVD, though, and encourage others to purchase it as well before getting "Revisited." Just for the record.

Ady:

Just wanted to thank you for the thoughtful gesture of including us all in the credits.

And even if you don't adjust my name to the way I was hoping you could, I am happy beyond words that I'm there in the first place.

Although I did have the great suggestion of putting George Lucas into the film as a cameo. I've watched it twice and still can't find him. Did anyone locate GL?

PS: I also made the suggestion that you fix the wobbly chess table when Luke stands up. The fix looks fantastic.

Ady:

Wow. Impressive. Your dedication is unmatched by anybody on this planet. I'm watching it for the second time right now. This is one of the all-time greatest fan creations ever.

I see that you'll be going back into the credits to make some changes and re-render. If it's not too big of a problem, could you slightly adjust my credit while you're doing that? Right now my credit is MASTEROBISWAN. If you can, and if it's not too big a hassle, I would love for it to read MASTER OBI-SWAN. But this is only if you can and feel like doing it. You've done so much work already and I don't want to impose. If you say no, I will not complain.

Thank you again, Ady. This is the best Christmas/birthday present I got.

PS: FUSER, sorry I snapped a few posts back. Peace & love.

Fuser: It was just a suggestion. Furthermore, it was given with respect to Ady and the work he's done. So calm yourself.

Uncanny Antman: I don't agree with you. The people down below wouldn't be able to overhear the conversation. And it would make a much better establishing shot than the one that's in the film -- my opinion, nothing more.

Ady: Hopefully I didn't cause you any stress or anger by simply making a suggestion. I love the work you've done, as I've said before, and can't wait to see the final product.

And to all: I've been a reader and contributor to this forum for a while now and I've always enjoyed the genuine enthusiasm. But this kind of sharp reaction (mainly from Fuser) only serves to take all the fun out of it. I love Star Wars. But Star Wars fans..? That's something else.

Ady:

First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work and attention to detail. You are amazing.

Next, I beg you to consider removing one shot from the film. This one...

The reason I don't like it is because the crane up on steroids is completely unrealistic and doesn't belong in the film.

But the tail end of the shot, once the crane up is complete, this part of the shot...

... could be slowed down and used to replace this shot...

It could easily be Ben and Luke's POV from atop the cliff.

Just a request. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Just had another idea. Wouldn't it be cool to take one of the old dudes in the background of the final scene when Han and Luke are getting their medals and replace his face with George Lucas? You can either use George circa '76/'77, or old George now. It could be a very subtle effect and maybe someone watching who doesn't know it's there might even completely miss it on the first viewing. But it would be a cool Lucas cameo, even cooler than the one in SITH, I think.

Thoughts?

Yes, the jump cut from matt painting to model when we race into the trench in POV needs to be fixed.

Also, some other ideas...

When you get around to doing ROTJ, could you use the Lucasfilm logo from Tucker/Willow? Just to be different and sort of vintage.

And have you considered incorporating some of the short clips from the menus on the 2004 discs? They're interesting and have funky perspective changes that aren't in the film. Just wondering.

Keep up the good work, Ady.

And PS...

I'm in the US, so can you please make an NTSC version as soon as you can? And please make sure the speed is correct. I have a PAL DVD that was supposedly NTSC converted and it runs much faster than normal and the voices sound sped up like chipmunks.

My gratitude for all the hours and attention you've put into this.
