Popeye The Sailor: Warner Archive releases - Volume 3 review...
Time

Hello all,

I was wondering if Popeye The Sailor fans on the Original Trilogy site have been purchasing any of the three Warner Archive 1940s Popeye Blu-ray or DVD discs that have been released in the last year? The quality has been tremendous on all of them. The films are uncut, and feature their original openings. The latest is Volume 3, 1948 and 1949, which was released three months ago.

Book on Ross Bagdasarian Sr.-The Alvin Show
Time

Hello all,

Thanks for letting me join the site. I especially like the fact that the site’s members are restoring and offering advice on restoring classic films, TV, etc.

There’s a new book on Ross Bagdasarian Sr. (aka David Seville), creator of Alvin and the Chipmunks, which includes info on The Alvin Show. I know Rugratskid on the site is working on restoring complete episodes of this 1961-1962 TV series. Anyone on the site have episodes and segments like Rugratskid (Kevin)? That’s the program that had inventor Clyde Crashcup and his assistant Leonardo in a cartoon among the Chipmunks segments.

I just wrote a review of the book. Here’s the link to the article:
