I have made fan edit of season two of Twin Peaks. I started it during the first summer of the pandemic. I would watch them over the winter and during that spring/summer fix what needed fixing, sometimes trimming some more.

Twin Peaks Season Two: The Clearcut Edit

I made my first ever fan edit back when I would binge-watch the original series annually at my friend Amanda’s house (via her VHS box set). I found that whatever group of us who were watching would just end up laughing and making fun of a bunch of the season 2 arc which would eventually take us right out of the show. So one time I brought my VCR over to her house and played all the episodes with James and Evelyn Marsh while pausing the tape on mine which was recording hers. That was my first fan edit lol.

With Twin Peaks: The Return coming out 25+ years later those scenes (plus many more) felt so pointless and meandering to me. I also found that Windom Earle was this extremely great and creepy character who was never quite given the chance to be either great or creepy. To me it felt like the writers were in a hurry to fill in the gaps left by being forced to reveal the killer early and ended up making the Windom Earle character needlessly hokey. Anyway, this ‘clearcut edit’ does exactly that: It clears up and cuts out entire storylines, character arcs and plotlines to keep the story focused while making Earle more menacing.
Some may question a few choices I made because I did take the greater Twin Peaks universe (according to what Mark Frost expanded on in his Secret History Of Twin Peaks books) into consideration and left in some characters and stories which connected with those.

(For fun I also made and extended version of Cooper’s Dream in episode 2 by adding in the extra footage from the European Version of the pilot).

To make the extended and uncensored version of the first episode of the Jackass TV Series I used episode 1 from the “Naughty Bits Restoration” by fan editor SpacemanDoug. I also sourced extra uncensored footage from the skit “Johnny Coxville” which appeared on the Big Brother video Boob. I mixed the full version of the “Self Defence Test” from the Big Brother Number 2 video with the footage contained in the censored TV episode which resulted in 4 self defense tests instead of 3: Pepper spray, stun gun, taser gun and bulletproof vest/handgun. There was also a little extra footage in the Number 2 video which was probably cut for time to fit the television episode. I added about 30 seconds more to the end of the “Self Defence Test” which was sourced from Dumb: The Big Brother Magazine Story. And finally I used a few pieces from the “Fat Fuck” video which originally appeared in CKY2K to get around the blurred censoring of the skit title.

Thank you so much for doing this! I was actually working on a few non TV show Jackass edits when I stumbled upon your restoration. I had the Turd version but once I saw yours I was vindicated (in my own mind) because of that one “Human BBQ” up next segment where Knoxville says “these conceptual art pieces are for the birds”. I used to play in a band and one of the guys used to say this all the time and I could have sworn we saw it in Jackass (it was a Sunday night ritual for our band). But when I rewatched any of it, including the what I thought was fully restored Turd version, I never heard or saw that part and I thought I was losing it. So thanks for that!

I also edited your edits (for my own personal use) and removed any of the ‘up next’ parts that were repeats (most of season 2 and 3) as well as levelling the audio in a couple of spots. I did use your episode 1 restoration to make an extended & uncensored fan edit which put the full version of the “Self Defense” skit, a non blurred and slightly alternate version of “Johnny Coxville” as well as a non blurred and slight alternate version of “Fat Fucks”. All of this is to say thank you for your hard work!!!
