At least there are no scenes of endless trade negotiations or senate debates.
To me Jedi always felt like the second half of the story began by Empire.

I will say that most of the aliens in Jabba’s palace were pretty shoddy. But the speeder bike chase and the Death Star II battle hold up very well.

What do you plan on doing with Attack of the Clones? So far, you haven’t spoken about that at all, other than that you are combining it with Revenge of the Sith.
Cleaning up the deleted scene of Anakin killing Shaak Ti would be helpful for me as well. Don’t worry if it’s too hard.
Cool stuff that I’d like to see done:
-Finish the deleted scene where Anakin kills a Jedi, rather than a bunch of kids
-Using the deleted scene in ROTS where Grievous kills Shaak-Ti, make a hologram of that rather than an encounter, this would be Maul/Grievous’ re-introduction, he sends the Jedi a hologram/recording of him killing a Jedi knight.
But Shaak Ti is shown dying in both of these scenes…

Do you plan to change the music in a possible V5? There are some scenes where the music is boring and forgettable (seriously, barely any Imperial March for the birth of Vader) and I can’t see why no fan edits change the music. It would also make for some better transitions during cuts.
I guess that could work, but I am not trying to compress them as much as I can, but trying to make Reloaded and Revolutions into a better film(s). As I love the first Matrix, I will not do that. Good suggestion though.
Actually I plan on combining Reloaded and Revolutions and cutting out enough to make it around 2 hours. As Zion takes up a lot of both films, and I am cutting it completely, I think this is accomplishable.
I have recently watched The Matrix and its sequels for the first time, and have pondered on doing a fan edit. This would be my first edit, and right now, I only have Windows Movie Maker at the moment, but I plan to get Adobe Premiere. I would combine Reloaded and Revolutions. Anyway, I haven’t seen any Matrix fan edits, but have read about DeZionized, and like the concept.
Here is some ideas I’ve had.
-Cut Zion completely
-Cut Trinity’s fake death subplot
-Hopefully cut French man
-If this isn’t possible, at least cut his love of French language, and most of the cause and effect speech.
-Maybe cut out Indian family, but maybe not, as I didn’t mind them.
-Shorten all battle scenes
-Replace Neo’s Trinity dream with a version of his confrontation with Smith at the end of Revolutions, darkening it so as not to see the Smith faces, and cutting all Smith’s references to his “others,” and have Neo wake up as soon as they throw the first punch.
-Hopefully cut Architect, or at least most of speech, about the different Matrix’s and other “One’s”
-Cut Morpheus’s speech about trust
-Cut Morpheus and Niobe subplot
-Maybe cut Burly Brawl completely, and have Neo fly off as soon as Smith is finished talking, which teases their showdown at the end
So this edit isn’t a definite at the moment, but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts. If it gets made, I will release it under the name “The Matrix Re-Edited” but will keep the Reloaded title in the film.
What if TFA manages to make the Prequels, Transformers, and even Battlefield Earth look like master pieces? What if the story is like horrible fanfiction? What if the acting is worse than what we would expect from 2nd graders? What if John Williams decides to put in dubstep instead of his regular awesomeness, y'know, for teh kidz? What if the special effects have less dimension than a Monty Python cartoon? What if every good scene we've had in the trailers aren't actually in the film? What if it is edited in that fast paced vomit inducing shaky cam / jump cut way? What if it makes every SW fan in the world commit suicide? So many what ifs...
Why don't you wait for Kanemedhurs's standalone edit of ROTS?
And later on (I'd put it after Mace leaves to confront Palpatine, but before Padme's ruminitions) we cut to Anakin and Padme landing on Tatooine. I would order it as such:
-Establishing shot of Tatooine, but cut Watto scene.
-Cut scene where they meet 3PO and he introduces them to the Lars's (which implies that they already know each other).
-Cut Yoda sensing Anakin's pain.
-Cut establishing shot of the funeral (to be used later).
-Cut Clieg's speech.
-Perhaps reverse shot of Anakin walking to his mother's grave and insert it after he gives his eulogy.
-Cut R2 arriving at the Homestead.
-Insert establishing shot at the end, but reverse it so it pans up into the sky, then cut back to present day.
Here is how I would order the romance flashback:
-Anakin and Padme arrive at Naboo (why they do doesn't need to be explained, the audience can fill in the blanks), but cut their convo about politics, and the meeting with the queen.
-They go to Padme's parents house, but not in Padme's room (that scene is cheesy).
-They have dinner (the floating pear scene).
-They walk to the lake pier, cutting "I don't like sand," and "I love the water."
-They kiss, but don't pull away, which fades into the next day.
-After their convo about Anakin's mother, we cut back to the present day.
Great! I can't wait to see how it looks.
Won't the relationship flashback solve that issue?
Oh, also, do you still plan on making Grievous into Maul? I noticed that you removed it from the thread.
So are you going to remove Anakin from the end battle? I think that you should, as bringing a kid into a war zone is just dumb, especially when Qui-Gon just tells him to stay out of trouble.
I would call her "Queen Padme Amidala" and just cut the whole decoy storyline.
