During last update there was discussion about adding ākill himā to the final duel. As new update is comig? I think maybe you can look at this. I added some generic sith whispers, and layered voices from RotS and both Lion Kings. And also generic Palpatine laught after the duel, as the ground moves. Maybe itās worth a try, as it shouldnāt break the sync? If not, Iām happy just showing it here š
Speaking of that kiss scene, maybe Iām late for the party as V7 is out, but for V6 Iāve made my personal little tweak. Itās just added last few seoconds of Across the Stars from soundtrack, some play with original V6 audio (mainly much lower volume of course) and gentle transition. Nothing special and Iām sure that playing with channels you can get much better results.
Also, is V7 in sync with V6 so I could use my edited V6 audio with V7 picture?
Hi everyone, I was watching latest workprint and I have some loose thoughts about minor improvments to consider.
First,maybe cut just a few almost still frames from that shot of icy moon that once was Fores Moon of Endor? Just before Falcon shows up. It still has the vibe of: āyou know that place, but weāre going somewere elseā. But weāre now really going to Forest Moon, and this icey moon means nothing.
Secondly, Reys added(?) line āthe Death Starā sound unnatural, not fitting the rest of her sentence about old wars.
Then, trailer fotage of medal. I have a feeling that reordering just 2 short shoots, first Leia laying down, then medal close up may flow better.
Great work with restructuring Luke and Rey talk. Could we try to have a line: āā¦ donāt face your fearā, instead of āPalpatineā? That could strenghten the message that Luke and Leia learned from mistakes of Jedi of the past, and they werenāt hiding Reys heritage, and Luke gives her quest to fight her own weeknes, not to kill her family.
I would also add more R2 and 3PO prequel theme, itās nice piece of music. And maybee, if Chewie has to survive, maybe 3PO will have his memory permanently deleted? After that his role in the film is very limited. It wouldnāt require much work to make it beliviable I think.
Another one is cutting Finn line: āLando will send a distress signalā. If they didnāt respond to Leia they will not respond to Lando. It could flow better this way:

Like people are already fighting there and need just leader to unite them and show way to Methanol. Exagol. Not to encourage them to start fighting. There were already some changes in this direction and it could strenghten that message.
And two last thing, bigger but they rather donāt pass.
Silent duel is realy slow and blank. Putting Samuel Kim mashup of Battle of the Heroes and Duel of the Fates is realy lighting it up.
And there is no chance to have this cute look from Poe to Finn instead of Zori? š
Great work all of You guys. We are on the verge of greatness. We are this close.
I want to remind some neat idea of simple restructuring to make beggining of the film feel smoother and calmer. We can have Rey training scene following the Senate and Kylo conversation when they mention her, then after Falcon is mentioned we witnes this mission. This way, I think, movie flows more natural and has logical starting point, as in ANH where we follow droids to learn another pieces of a story.
It should also give more freedom to opening crawl cos both Rey and Falcon mission will be mentioned in the movie right before we see them. It should work regardless of shortening Falcon scene, restructuring Kylo vision, Palpatine lines or finding a wayfinder.
There are some rough concepts of tranzitions that I made some time ago testing some awsome ideas from this forum.

Some example of this black stripe cutting part of a frame, on a left. Itās seen throughout the movie irregulary.
There are also some black stripes on the left when Han talks with Ben at Stalkiller.
For me what is quite noticable is Snokeās lips are moving while heās not saying anything. During Hux āsupport the resistanceā line.
As for radio line, we could have it moveing only slightly, indicating only radio noise and not direct transmission of Palpatine voice while keeping the same audio.
An in this firs cave whispers scene, you could add Palpatines āReyā from āOh, Iām AFRAID the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arriveā when Reys hand is shown touching the ground, just before she says āItās calling meā.
