Well, isn't the DVD/HDTV the same as the digital theatrical cut? The 35mm theatrical cut is the one that was different, but not by all that much (it's missing the extended garage scene between Padme and Anakin, and has an alternate shot of Anakin's metal hand at the end - can't recall any differences beyond that).
There are also a few smaller differences, like more speeders in the background whilst Obi-Wan is chasing the bounty hunter, and Padme saying "yes" instead of "uh huh" when the clone trooper asks if she's okay after falling out of the ship.
Looks amazing so far! Fat chance, but would something similar be possible with Episode II? I know the best theatrical cut we have of that is the Centropy bootleg, but could any of those bootleg scenes be enhanced at all?
Thanks for the info. It seems signups on that site are closed however, so I can't access them. Are they anywhere that's publicly available, or anywhere that I can get them on Usenet?
When you say "Japanese Laserdisc", do you mean for TPM or AotC?
Thanks!
Hi there. Just signed up after finding the AMAZING Phantom Menace theatrical restoration on this site. It really took me back. I hadn’t seen that version of the movie (even though the changes made to the DVD release were minor) since I was 8 years old in 1999. 😃
I was wondering, does a similar thing exist for the other prequels, especially Episode II? I know various things were edited in that one, such as Padme saying “uh huh” instead of “yes” when asked if she’s alright by the clone trooper.
Any help would be great. Thank you!
