Idea: The Blues Brothers - original stereo mix preservation
Time

Okay, so the Turbine audio is basically a lossless copy of the 25th Anniversary DVD audio mastering, with the limited dynamics in it. Fades out slightly earlier and there’s a beep at the end.

But it does mux straight in with the 4K video from the UHD blu ray, no offset needed (well, with my UK copy at least)

So great to finally have the original mix with the original theatrical cut again, in wonderful quality. Thanks so much BenjaminG!

Thankyou so much! I had previously sync’d up the theatrical stereo mix from the old 25th anniversary dvd with the 4K video and that worked perfectly, so I’m guessing this one will work too. I’ll report back on the audio quality and mix, the old Laserdisc rip I had was heavily filtered and the 25th Anniversary DVD is dynamically limited.

I don’t recommend any form of stick-on/adhesive label. They ruined most of the discs I used them on over time, and I’ve heard horror stories of them ruining disc drives as well.

If you want disc labels, the only truly safe way to do it is to get printable discs and use a compatible printer, unfortunately.

I was after a certain indie band’s very rare home-made CD-R release from the late 90s and every existent copy is now unrippable thanks to the adhesive used in the printed disc labels. Luckily I found someone who had ripped the CD back in the day and still had the files.
