Thank you for taking the time and doing the work. It looks fantastic!!! Very exciting

Do you have a target date for the release?

idk like a year. you have to remember this is a shot for shot correction.

That goes same with the Devastator edition, correct? Or are you trying push that one sooner or even later than this one? I’m just wondering. I’m personally in no hurry or anything. I do understand this kind of stuff does takes quite a bit of time and patience.

DevEd will come out on Christmas.

Sweet!

Wow! I’ve been going through all of your pages on this thread checking out the progression, and I’m honestly in shock and awe! This project of yours is going to be amazing. I can’t wait for the release or even more updates.

If you think this edit’s cool you should check Adywan’s edit. it’s the same as this but 100% better, it’s the inspiration for this copycat edit.

Oh, alright. Well, isn’t Adywan’s revisited edit not finished for AHN yet?

technically not, as the original sd version was released about 15 years ago.

True. I just thought you might have been talking about the new version.

Can someone explain why this VHS copy of ROTJ is going for $1650.00 ?!
Time

That’s nuts! But this isn’t something that I haven’t seen or heard about before either. The whole retro aftermarket, regardless of the media (i.e., movies, games, toys, etc.) is in a total derelict and overinflated state anymore. Too many swindlers and even too many naive ignorant people involved with this, which is ruining the whole thing, imo. That’s why you see this kind of crap going on.

And that’s why I personally haven’t collected anything in a while now. Everything is way overpriced and too many scams going on and that’s before the economy got all goof up too. It sucks! Especially, for people or even younger people that are just getting into retro collecting of films, games, toys, or etc. In my opinion, it’s quickly becoming not worth it anymore.

Anakin's Force Ghost
Time

Personally, I wish they would have done both. Meaning, they should have the original scene play out with Shaw like they did in original 83 cut or the 97 SE cut then in a new SE shot after Luke looks away show the force ghost turn into their younger selves or their prequel era looks.

And it should be film with the actual two actors Hayden and Ewan to reprise their roles and to properly act out that part instead using out of context unused or test footage that will make the actors look weird and really out of place like they did with Hayden Christensen. Of course, just replace puppet Yoda with CGI Yoda.

Then here you go, you now have the best of both worlds that should make people less jaded about that change while preserving the integrity of that scene and still making a connection to the prequels, and still being respectful to Shaw and Hayden too by not removing Sebastian Shaw entirely from that scene and by not making Hayden Christensen look like a total creep either.

So, that’s my idea and thought on that matter.

ANH GOUT Reconstruction (WORK HAS BEGUN FOR GOOD)
Time

How the fudge did I miss this thread!? Well, I can’t wait check this out. Hopefully you’re able to restart this project in the near future. Also do you still have the old screenshots or clips of your previous work on this, or are they mostly gone because of the restart? I’m curious how it was turning out before you realized that SkyMaster’s Technicolor version is better material to work with than 4K77. If not, that’s okay. I just wait for the future updates on this then.

Return of the Jedi 1997 Special Edition HD Reconstruction (Released)

Is it okay if I get a link too? If not, it’s cool. Although, imo, the SE ending and with the new music with Sebastian Shaw as Force Ghost Anakin is the perfect ending for ROTJ. Plus, no Naboo with Wesa fee too! The 97 edition is the perect definitive way to end the OG trilogy.

I would have to agree.

That is the main reason why I made this reconstruction! The 97 ending to ROTJ is just too good not to see in better quality. I had to use upscaled SD footage for that bit, but I think it’s the best we’ll get until TN1 gets around to scanning the other two SE films.

I’m glad you feel the same way about the 97 ending. That’s really cool to hear that’s your main reason to do the reconstruction of ROTJ 97 special edition. The 97 ending is definitively my favorite and prefer version. It’s a really good and welcome change, imo. Also, I can’t wait for TN1 to get done with that too. That would be interesting to see once that’s finish.
