Try to take it easy with the Lucas bashing.
Time
While I agree that it's easy to go overboard attacking Lucas directly, he did bring most of it on himself. The entire premise of all his changes is that it's "his" vision and what he says goes, and he's famously controlling of his corporations and legal rights. The irony of his almost pathological desire to keep cranking up his films to the highest current computer effects level (including THX118, which is commenting on the terrors of a dehumanized machine world run amok!) juxtaposed with his OT DVD anamorphic snafu is rather impressive.

Frankly, giving him a complete pass everytime something like this happens just contributes to his feeling that he can just do whatever and nobody will call him on it. It reminds me of the hipster Flanderisisis trying to manage their out-of-control kid on the Simpsons: "We've tried nothing, and we're all out of ideas."
