Check out the Dagobah set progress on FB: https://www.facebook.com/swrevisited/photos/a.275630125785910.87505.223279371020986/932499526765630/?type=1&theater
The lens has been funded 100%.
And to quote a certain Governor: "This bickering is pointless." ;)
Ady's Dagoba trees are starting to look...deVINE (check out facebook!)
Getting the .mkv in a week. I'm enjoying the hell out of that gallery, though!
Thanks Harmy!

Oh, yeah, I'm working on it but it's no walk through the park, I'll tell you that :-)
I bet. I like them so much because they show me a lot of stuff I wouldn't have noticed as easily when just watching the movie.
-Disregard this-
Will there be another comparison gallery for this Harmy ESB v2.0, like with Harmy's Star Wars v2.5? (I love me some comparison galleries).
And furthermore: Harmy, Keep up the most excellent work!

The original canyon had some texture to the miniature and walls which gave it a good sense of scale. The revisited canyon looks to only have one size of texture on it, and it's so big relative to the ships it no longer looks convincing.
I think it has to do with the grooves being vertical in de original, making them appear taller, whereas Ady's are more horizontal.
That being said, I REALLY like the enhancements overall. Like others have pointed out, it blends seamlessly with the original footage :) And the light reflections hnnnggggg, so nice!
Wow. So many posts! :D My English has improved significantly ;)
Btw Cool shot, Ady.
Use all the scrap debris to create asteroids! ^_^

Yes, but for Star Wars, not Empire. :)

You are absolutely right :o
Damn me and my overzealousness! :p
Sorry, didn't mean to cry "wolf"...
For all of you who aren't subscribed to the newsletter: Hooray! V2.5 is available!
I was watching Harmy's Despecialized Edition of ESB, and I just noticed that Chewie should be repositioned in his first appearance (when Han has just returned to base and shouts "Chewie, Chewie!").
In the wide shot of him welding, Chewie is facing the cockpit. But in the immediate next shot (and subsequent ones), he's sitting with his back turned towards it. Easiest solution would be to flip him in the wide shot.
Perhaps this has already been addressed/confirmed, but I only just noticed :)

Logically it makes more sense to cast a set of HanDs and Feet.
They don't have to be Harrison's.
Indeed you could make the positions more realistic considering he has only a microsecond between whatever frees his bonds and raising his arms up.
Reading around it seems Harrison wears a size 12 shoe (you know what they say about men with big shoes... big FEET HA HA HA) and he is 6ft 1 so positioning an approximate set of shoes shouldn't be too hard.
Feet and hands are generally proportional so he should have the hands of a man with size 12 shoes.
There must be someone Ady knows with size 12 feet?
Transcripted from comment on the original post.
Adywan:
"Actually all i would need to get hold of so i can carry on with building the prop and film it is the hands. But they have to be taken from the original film used prop (which most of the Han in Carbonite fan made props are anyway) thanks to Harrison's slightly twisted fingers. I did try casting my own but it is impossible to get the hands in the exact same pose :("

On another note, it seems a new fan edit is causing me all sorts of headaches...
http://fanedit.org/ifdb/component/content/article/79-fanedit-listings/fanfix/938-star-wars-episode-i-return-of-the-sith-revisited-editionI'm getting numerous messages and emails from people asking me where they can get the edit, why have i done episode 1 before finishing ESB:R, etc etc. I guess they didn't bother to check the editors name before bombarding me with all these questions. lol
People and reading...sheesh. Too bad you're being distracted as a consequence.
Thanks again!
So best bet is to wait for 2.5 then. (I can do without subs for now too, tbh)

If you're using VLC to watch 2.1, there was a VLC-specific bug in the subs (flashing for one frame) which is fixed in the latest version of Project Threepio.
To see the ones in 2.1, you'd need to use MPC or a hardware player.
Ok, thanks.
What's the difference between Project Threepio and Harmy's versions, if you don't mind my asking?
I've noticed the (english, at least) subs in 2.1 don't work...
Have others experienced this too?

If you can hold off a little longer it would probably be worth waiting for 2.5 IMHO as that will be the best version yet.
Alright, thank you for the advice! :)
Hi all,
In the past I've downloaded Harmy's BD's (which are kinda glitchy in playback in VLC on a Mac, but it kinda works :) ).
So I was very excited to see the AVCHD 2.1 of SW:DE. However, since it takes me a pretty long time to get it all via JDownloader...I was wondering whether it would be more wisely to wait for that 2.5 version?
I myself think the article is interesting, but way over-thought. I wasn't trying to force anything down your throats in name of realism.
But I figured maybe you might get a kick out of it :)
An article regarding actual falling speed of (Luke) falling (from an) AT-AT('s). Will this be considered for the edit? Since there seems such a devotion to making things realistic to a certain degree, I thought this might help.

From the Star Wars: Revisited -The Saga Facebook page:
Well it's 2013. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year.
So now it's the year we will see ESB:R finished, there is a strong possibility that i will be doing a few ESB:R Behind the scenes video blogs starting Late Feb/ early March. You'll get to see how some of the miniatures sets and models are made along with some of how the FX shots were created.
The final blog, a few days before ESB:R is released, will give you your first glimpse at the new Wampa.
^ What he said! :D
-Edit- I really hope Cutter hasn't abandoned us :p If he doesn't feel like finishing the movie, he should definitely share the original scores he created :D
