TFA: A Gentle Restructure (Released)

And, just to add another opinion to the mix, I will say that in my view the idea should be that everyone at that point knows that the FO is there and that they’ve found them, but they’re unsure of what exactly they’re going to do.

Maz decides someone has to take the lightsaber to bring it to Rey, so they go to the basement (and Finn, as someone who knows the FO, wouldn’t be against potentially hiding in there). But the FO sends TIEs to wreck the castle, which Maz wasn’t expecting them to have the audacity to do (hence why they went down there). She is angry and slightly shocked at the FO’s shameless act, cursing them to herself: “Those beasts!”

Changing this a bit. At the moment, I’m feeling Rogue One fits in between TPM and the rest of the PT, which might be mostly because I’m bored of those.

The scores are essentially (I feel) incomplete. Especially AOTC. ROTS sort of annoys me in a way because it feels quite un-Star Warsy in places (with all the epic choirs and tracks like “Padme’s Ruminations”), though I do think for the most part it’s rather consistent and a lot of great moments don’t even make it onto the OST. AOTC on the other hand tends to be boring, and though it has an amazing theme that works throughout the score (unlike ROTS), the whole climax is basically unscored which is a huge minus.

I agree with this so much.
Those scores are hard for me to compare, so my rating:
ESB
SW/ROTJ
TFA/TPM
RO/ROTS/AOTC

STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga (Released)
Time

I’m reviving this thread to announce that I have continued what tlbauerle started, and made a Suite version of the TFA score. This isn’t an official SfaS entry, just something I decided to make and share, but it was inspired by this work.

No artwork or personal interpretation notes included in the download, but I will mention, I went a little experimental with Jedi Steps, hopefully it works. Here is the “tracklist”:
01 - Attack on the Jakku Village
02 - Rey the Scavenger
03 - On the Run from the First Order
04 - Starkiller/Awakening
05 - It’s the Resistance
06 - Husband, Father
07 - X-Wings Attack
08 - “Our job’s done here, let’s go home!”/Journey to Find Luke
09 - Jedi Steps

The total runtime is 30:32
I hope whoever listens will enjoy and/or leave feedback!

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

So I think it could be good if (for the HD version) you did something to the effect of showing the surface being destroyed in the Alderaan destruction scene, sort of like you did in that scene with Jar Jar. Of course, dispense with the Jar Jar shot, and if no good Bail reaction shot can be orchestrated, him too. But given how there were several surface destruction shots in RO, I think having that in ANH:R would be cool.

So, uh, something that may or may not have been overlooked, is how at the end, the planet implodes, and I always thought that it ends up looking like a star because it absorbed a star. Now, since you made it fire, shouldn’t it not do that? I always felt that satisfaction at the end, but now it seems like there’s a bunch of energy that just comes from nowhere.
Also, Poe’s “our job’s done here” seems a bit weird now, because they failed to prevent their DC from being nuked. Just a thought…
Good job on the edits, though, Hal and others!
