The Vaultbreakers Collection - Disney Preservations

Also the credits are redrawn (the font is wrong for the end credits, and "presents" in the first card is placed too high), and "In association with Silver Screen Partners IV" is missing. I have heard of other redrawing, but this is all I myself have found.

Disney has admitted that they change the colors for the dvds. They want them to look modern, not to look how they used to. A lot of other Disney Classics have this problem (Cinderella, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Dumbo, among others) Maybe the colors can be corrected too? The new dvds (especially Beauty and the Beast) look horrible.

Whatever happened to the scene you were going to add to the end? The additional scene with Darth Vader in his shuttle. I would have loved to see that. And why did you did not alter Obi-Wan's line to 'I wanted you to have this, when you were old enough?' Just curious.

That's intentional. Since the hyperspace effect is blue, the rationale is that the cockpit would reflect the colors outside.

I knew it was intentional, but I was just wondering if it was the unaltered 2004 version (which already has a blue hue over it), or there was additional blue added.

Wow.

Okay, I have just seen it. I don't know what to say . I read all kinds of comments about your edit, and while I am critical, I seriously couldn't be bothered by the 'mistakes' some people listed here. The revealing of the Death Star looked great to me. The additional TIE fighters added to the end battle was a fantastic move. I didn't like Battle of the Heroes added to the duel when you showed the test clip, but now, remixed and re-edited, I couldn't think of being it another way. The lightsabers look great, vibrant and consistent, as they should've been. The Death Star looked dull and gray again (I hope Hoth will look white again, when you are revisiting Empire).
Actually, I could go on and on about it, but most of it has been adressed anyway (and that shows that I'm not the only one who thinks that way about the changes).
And I even found George Lucas (great to put him in) and the battle droid .
The DVD-9 DL with bonus material probably will replace the 2004 dvds as my favorites .

Some questions, though.
The blue hue when the Falcon travels in lightspeed, was that the original 2004 dvd look? Nothing was added to that? It looks way too blue.

I know you're not even close to beginning on them, but I was really curious about this. What are you planning to change to the prequels? They need a lot of improvement. I thought I read something about it, but I couldn't remember exactly.

I have said it already, but I think you have done an incredible job. Thanks .

With Uttorrent, you first download the program, and then search for adywan's edit on the internet, the file starts to download (it's as easy as that, I was a newbie and I figured it out too)

I just had a marathon-reading experience, I read every page of this thread. Adywan, no matter what other comments you have gotten: I'm stunned by the good work. You did great.
Sure, some shots could've been enhanced and some edits aren't as popular as others. But they forget it's your edit, and you're doing this all by yourself. And it looks spectacular.
I haven't seen the entire movie yet (i'm gonna do that tonight) but the bits I have seen look great.
I'll probably watch this version twenty times to spot all the changes, and I'm glad to do it .

Keep up the excellent work on the other five films you're going to do .

Info: What is your dream fan edit if you could get the rare footage?
Time
I've always wanted to see the original version of Galaxy Quest. It had more violent scenes, more swearing (some obvious dubs can still be seen in the movie) and was just darker. It probably would have gotten an R rating, and the test screening audience wanted to change all that.
The original 4-hour cut of Blue Velvet. Too bad the two hours of deleted scenes still cannot be found.
I would like to see Little Shop Of Horrors with the orignal ending attached. This one has the plant eating Audrey and Seymour, and conquering the world, Godzilla-style. The preview audience didn't like it, even though the ending is the same as the original Broadway-version. There are rumors that David Geffen is re-releasing the movie, with the original ending intact. I hope it happens.

Maybe the original 70mm version had a leap to hyperspace, but the IMDb is the only source for this item. I haven't seen this claim anywhere else.

What was the original like, then? I'm curious.
Still, it could be added. It would look better as the ending, I think.

Which early versions are you referring to?

According to IMDb the early versions (theatrical, first VHS, perhaps some laserdiscs too) had the last shot intact. It looks kinda strange when you look at it, and it would be great to see it back again.

The original version has the Rebel fleet hyperspace out immediately before the end credits. Follow-up versions (THX re-release, Special Edition and DVD) all cut to the end credits before the hyperspace jump.

I haven't read this thread all the way threw so I don't know if anyone has addressed this yet, but I have an issue with the new scene of the Emperor in ESB. Part of the magic of the Emperor (if you haven't seen ep 1-3 of course) is you don't really know who this guy is. He was a shadowy figure with a calm well spoken British accent. I'm not crazy about the new make-up. To me it looks dodgy in moments and at times, the angles and make-up make him look over-weight. I think he should look a bit more obscure, as he did prequels. perhaps even garble the transmission slightly (but not too much), they are after all just coming out of an asteroid field.

I agree about the make-up. In ROTJ he looked a bit greener too (but that could be the lighting). His voice definitely sounds better in ROTJ, than in the prequels.

But other things that need enhancements:
ESB:
- The shot of the AT-AT foot coming down on Luke's speeder looks fake, perhaps a CG replacement?
- The added windows in Cloud City need new continuity, because now there isn't.
- The ending shot needs all the ships jumping into lightspeed, and then fade to the credits. In early versions it used to be that way, but for some reason it has been changed.

ROTJ:
- Impact wounds on the people Luke attacks with his lightsaber. He swings with it like a madman and everybody acts like they're injured, but I don't see any wounds.
- Explosion of the shield generator is way too big.
- The explosion of the Death Star's main reactor always looked a bit crummy to me. Could it be enhanced?

And of course a lot of other things, but those have already been listed here.

Oh, by the way, Adywan, it's totally cool that you're doing this!!! . Everything (from what I've seen) looks great!
Can't wait for the dvd, and the other movies .
