All reels of the UK print are now scanned and with Harmy. Thanks again to everyone that helped make that happen.
You’re welcome! So, all 6 reels are cleaned and scanned? Also, you mentioned it taking many thousands to have someone scan a film. Were you able to rebuild and use your own scanner?
Also, thank you for putting all of this work into bringing forward a restored version of a film we all treasure deeply, as well as for taking the time to explain so much about what goes into it!
My two cents would be to get the DE Reel 2 cleaned next, assuming it will be crucial in subbing the latter half of the British reel, which is damaged. I know you can scan it now as it is, but seeing as it’s vital, you might as well treat it as the next part of the preservation.
I’m sure if it came to reel 6 of the Brit print and funds had run out, the community would come to the rescue 😉
I was thinking along similar lines. I would love to chip in a little more to the cause once I can, especially if it means cleaning up the DE Reel and getting the best restoration of this film possible. The order doesn’t mean too terribly much to me; as I’m not involved in the editing process, whatever cleaning order makes most sense to poita and Harmy is the way to go. Let’s clean all the things!
