Star Wars Holiday Special Documentary
Time

This looks so cool, and great to see it doing really well in the Top 10s and charts.

I watched just the first 20 minutes the A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE | LIVE Interview with KYLE NEWMAN and ADAM F. GOLDBERG video at the The Holdo Maneuver Podcast, and so far, I am sold on this.

As the people in the video says, it is good to hear directly from some the people who worked on it and their stories, rather than just the internet myths and legends.

RIP Tom Veitch, 1941-2022
Time

Is there a “Tales of the Jedi” thread for the comics, by Tom Veitch and Kevin Anderson on here?

I found both the main threads on Lightsider and Dark Empire, by Tom Veitch.

Star Wars Lightsider by Tom Veitch

Dark Empire trilogy | 1991-1995 EU comic series | a general discussion thread

There is a Tales of the Jedi thread, but in name only, for the recent animated series on Disney+

Ahsoka (live action series) - general discussion thread
Time

The series has been okay. A little underwhelming so far, but let’s see what the final episode does.

I do agree that not much has happened other than to move people into place for a 2nd series or movie. Shin and Baylan have excelled and I want to know more about them, while Ahsoka herself has disappointed a little. The young actress in the flashback episode was more interesting than adult Ahsoka, and do I like Rosario Dawson as an actress.

I hope Chapter 8 makes it all the worthwhile.

Original Trilogy Edits - some changes are justified
Time

HarrisHolt said:

I know a lot of hardcore fans of the original Star Wars are very picky on it being the same way it was when it was released, and I completely understand, but some edits are completely justified. Like when they knocked down some walls in the Cloud City. Or when they replaced that horrible Palpatine character with the well known Ian McDiarmid Palpatine. Or when they fixed the lightsaber shots in the original movie to replace the original reflective material shots which didn’t always work in some shots. Just FYI, I am not dissing the original edits, I am just stating my opinion.

Picky? They just want to see the original cuts in the best possible quality and format they can.

That George Lucas made more and more changes, and does not even release some of the Special Editions on HD, or UHD, is the problem.

Or that George Lucas made changes to other directors’ movies, despite the quotes from George posted above, and the directors’ original cuts are not available on HD or UHD either.

If George made available all of the different cuts of the films it would not be a such a problem.

Why not give fans the option to watch the cuts of the films they grew up with? Or for fans to be able to see the various other cuts that others got to watch and experience?
