Obviously that’s LATT LPP not one of my scans, but the principle is the same. The picture with is only ~1800 pixels at 2K and then you’re going to lose some more due to cropping, and to make it 1080p you’ll need to stretch it. For Academy films 1 2K scan would be sufficient for 1080p… but detail and grain structure are better preserved by scanning at 4K. 😃

I remember seeing a behind the scenes thing on Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty about how they got the original masters, scanned then and then broke it down into background elements, characters and others and ended up restoring them piece by piece I found it very interesting how they rotoscoped certian elements to clean them up and place them back into the foreground and background it’s like they really went all in on them but I do wonder why they just didn’t restore the prints in their entirety instead of breaking them down like they did, then again maybe because of the age of some of the movies it was better to do it that way

This sounds amazing but, how could you be sure you can get all those prints Id love to see some of these in 4K in all honesty but these are the ones I’m looking forward to the most

Also not sure if it counts but id say Tarzan deserves a 4K treatment its such a beautifully animated film and definitely a classic of the Disney 2D animated films super happy that Hunchback and Hercules are on the list too since those seem to be overlooked sometimes also it’s probably too recent yet but LILO and Stitch would be amazing

The whole saga (minus episode vii) have been on TNT and on demand the last few days due to the last Jedi coming out this week, are they worth preserving ? and more so are they different masters than the Blu Rays

First off, I agree 100%, just because Fox will be owned by Disney doesn’t mean it will be CONTROLLED by Disney. They’ll still let Fox do their own thing and not interfere, less they do a project together.

Second, Touchstone is still around. Their next co-production Glass is set for release in 2019. And again, if they released their Marvel and SW titles under that banner, it could probably help generate business even interest again for Touchstone.

Exactly, once you stop and think about it and get the whole “Disney owns everything” thoughts out of your head this situation could actually be a very good one for these franchises think about it

• Star Wars would be all under one roof (Prequel,Original,Sequel Trilogies and anthology films) which could finally led to the theatrical cuts being released

• The MCU and X-Men universes can continue to exist separately BUT could have crossovers if they wanted to (Plus characters that Disney couldn’t use before because they were owned by Fox could be implemented without a crossover)

•R-Rated projects like Deadpool, Logan, and the upcoming New Mutants, Deadpool 2 and X-Force movie can continue to be made under a new subdivision of Disney/Fox without touching the MCU or more family friendly X-Universe

• Fox Franchises like Alien, Predator, Planet of the apes and countless others that I can’t think of will probably be handled and distributed by a newly created devision

Hello all, I’m getting myself a new PC set up this holiday season and with it decided to try my hand at editing, my question is what type of software is recommended for ripping Blu Rays (removing copyright protection, macrovision etc) and more so what is a good video editing software for assembly an edit

Sooo I saw Justice League and thought it was a lot of fun and good movie overall, that being said with the amount of reshoots and cut material as seen in trailers I was wondering if anyone was thinking of doing an extended version if their isn’t an official one or maybe something even more extensive for the hell of it like coloring the Flash’s lightning yellow to match the comics and maybe adding the portions of the original score back into the movie like it was before the 89 Batman theme and 78 Superman theme were added (if there ever was a different score written and composed to begin with before the reshoots and edits were made)

This is a great idea, im a sucker for tv versions especially if certain scenes are only shown on tv and it even include on the DVD or Blu Rays freeform does this with most of their movies, actually they have special cuts of some of the the Harry Potter movies that only they show, same for the grinch and I think the flintstones if I recall, all good stuff now if only we could get tv cuts of problem child 1 & 2 in HD, they showed them on discovery family but in ever got a chance to capture them

I used some of that footage in my JAWS 2 fan edit. Unfortunately it’s the only source available at the moment.

It’s inexplicable why some of these TV scenes but not all, made it to DVD/Blu-Ray.

The TBS TV version - with extra scenes, appears to be edited. The deleted scene in the police station with the secretary Polly starts earlier in that video you posted than it does in the TBS edit. The extended helicopter attack also shows more footage of the pilot struggling to get out of his harness than the TBS.

The recovery of the camera from the ORCA wreck is completely absent from the TBS version too.

How difficult would it have been to slap an English language onto this extended version and give it an official release on DVD/Blu-Ray. It would make a great extra. I wish SHOUT FACTORY or ARROW would get the rights to the JAWS sequels and give them REAL special edition respect. Next year would be the perfect opportunity for a 40th anniversary of JAWS 2 home video release!

I really think they might eventually, the jaws sequels along with Childs Play 2 and 3 really need collectors editions with new special features and all the deleted scenes included

For now, I’m working on some sort of automated colorization script, but nothing works well… I wonder if someone has recolored any of the b&w scenes, even in low resolution!

I wouldn’t worry just yet about Rogue One, a lot of deleted scenes will probably be on the blu ray though in sure not every shot will be
