The Vaultbreakers Collection - Disney Preservations
Time

I wouldn't mind capturing the video, but my equipment isn't so great on this machine (and my laserdisc player is pretty decent).  So if somebody wanted to cleanup after I were to capture it that'd be fine by me.

Also, anyone have a clue as to supplements not carried over from Laser to DVD.  I know 20,000 leagues does, maybe we could start up some preservations of those extras as well.

Edit:

And that's without mentioning the following which are banned outright...

Hell's Bells
Trader Mickey
Mickey In Arabia
Mickey's Man Friday
Education For Death
Reason And Emotion
Commando Duck
Der Fueher's Face
Mickey's Mellerdrammer
Cannibal Capers

I believe several of those shorts listed have been released by Disney in the Treasures line.

Jmoomer was kind enough to send me a copy of a Disney special with a tribute to Joel Chandler Harris.  It runs about 50 minutes, and gives an excuse to revisit the project.

I also had someone suggest to me to pick up a 16mm version of the film on eBay, but I wasn't getting caught up in that money pit again (unless the print is damn near pristine).

I took a look at the disc to see if I could reauthor or manually tweak the ifo.

The problem is that all the programs on that DVD are in the same VTS.  Unfortunately, you cannot mix aspect ratios within the same VTS... it's just one of those things.

Yeah I know.  For some reason DVDLab and myself can't agree on using multiple VTS with any successful results.

One day perhaps.

It appears on disc 2 that the 2nd Splash Mountain extra should be 16x9 not 4x3.

Has anyone else had a problem with that?

Yeah that is an authoring issue, for some reason the way the disc was compiled it would not allow me to present it in 16x9.  I guess it could be added onto the to do list for another version.

Well, looks like disc two isn't going to be so large. I'm compiling a demo disc for disc 2 right now. A lot of the content is audio based, however there are trailers, sing a longs, photo galleries.

If anyone has anything else I might be able to use, let me know. Otherwise if the disc is good to go, it is going to be uploaded within the next couple of days.

JoeyO - Beware, I noticed that the subtitles are spelled as people talk.
"Dat dare Br'er Fox. He a bad un." I hope that's not what you're seeing as misspelled.
I sent a PM to you about the subtitles.
The other subtitle file I have to work with, its worse. I mean whoever made it, instead of using the letter "i", its the letter "j", and I appears as lowercase l.

I found the original subtitle stream, and downloaded Subtitle Workshop, and changed the FPS to 29,97, and the subtitles are still off. If you can check on your end that would be cool (unless I did this wrong, which could be a possibility).

Alternatively I do have another subtitle stream I might be able to use, I'm going to check on it now.

Edit: after looking at the other subtitles, they are grossly misspelled words, as well as missing the entire beginning song.

I have coverart ready to go also, I just have to add the special features to it and it's done.

Might be a slight delay on fixing the subs, two wakes and funerals to attend day after Easter.

I'm going to try to play around with the subtitles tomorrow among the festivities, and if I get a fix its just a matter of uploading it again.

The subtitle file used, is a file type called .sp1. Im not sure if they are coded for PAL or NTSC, but I'm assuming Doctor M was right (these were one of the many subtitles supplied to me).

I wouldn't mind recompiling the disc with correct subtitles, but it'll take a couple of days to get it back onto the net. Just let me know.

Sorry about missing part 26 (thats what happens when you copy paste items really fast). It should be up in about 15 minutes.

Also guys, let me know if you have any issues. I tried it on a couple of players in my house and it seems to load fine. It was compiled with DVD Lab, so any feedback or issues please post them.

I'd like to point out, there is an issue with the subtitles, that would have taken me a really long time to fix. They are correct, but off by a couple of seconds.

After catching up with this thread, I've decided to that I'm gonna release what I have (which is disc one, disc two is incomplete). Im currently compiling a disc now, and hope to seed it within the next two days. If someone can pass along where I can do such a thing please let me know.

Hopefully I can quickly knock out disc two, unless I completely cut out all the audio track features which is the only thing missing if I am remembering correctly.

Well guys, a quick update as to where I am at.

The first disc is almost done, I just need to mess with the subtitles. The menus are also very jumpy, so I'm going to investigate that.

As for disc two, all the special features are put together, except for encoding some audio tracks. I was given alot of versions of the film's songs, and I'm on the fence about putting them all on the bonus disc. Also if anyone has some suggestions as to programs to do multiple encodings from MP3 to .ac3 that would help me tremendously (ffmpeg is not encoding some tracks completely, and BeSweet gives me wacky results when it actually does work for me).

Here's a breakdown of the discs:

Disc One - Feature Film

Disc Two - Trailers, TV Spots, etc. | Sing-a-Longs | 3 Audio Galleries (could change) | 3 Photo Galleries | Splash Mountain Material
