And what’s wrong with the Christmas Special?! It was high art, and brought us a lot closer to the Star Wars lore…hehehe, I can’t continue this charade.

Ha ha, yep, you got nothing else 😃

Well, I was able to watch it twice, all the way through. Yes it’s cringe worthy, but so were most, if not all of these Variety Hour Specials.

True man, true.

I don’t think there’s such a thing as a “true” Star Wars fan. If you’re a fan of something then, er, you’re a fan in any sense of the word e.g. “true”, “real”, “proper” etc.

Years ago I used to take the piss out of people who liked the PT and tease them saying they weren’t “proper” SW fans but with maturity I realised that was BS. If you you like all or a part of SW, you’re a fan.

Now, about people who like the Christmas Special…

What was Episode I hype like?
Time

I remember the hype well, it was crazy for a while. I remember there being lots going on in the mainstream media and there wasn’t a week that went by in the few months leading up to release when there wasn’t a picture of Obi Wan, Darth Maul etc in newspapers, magazines etc.

It was a great time to be a SW fan actually. I know the prequels aren’t viewed in high regards these days but before its release it felt like the best thing ever.

The “dark times” (excluding novels, games etc) felt like forever so I think everyone was happy to jump on the hype train and enjoy the ride.
