burn at minimal speed. For instance, I use the 2.4-6X Verbatim's....I burn @ 2.4X.

Also when you say "coaster" what does that mean? Does your computer recognize the disc at all while its in the drive? If not sounds like its not finalizing or something. What media are you using?

I'm using Memorex DVD+R Double Layer discs; I've had them for at least a year but rarely have a use for them. 2.4X is their max. The computer doesn't recognize the final disc at all, in fact, what Imgburn does is keep prompting to enter the disc on the verification stage.

Hi Ady -

Thanks for the help - yes, someone quoted my message but removed the quote section breaks. I followed your initial recommendations and Imgburn reacted as expected. At the end, though, I still ended up with a coaster. At this point I've got to assume there's something wrong with my media or my drive. *sigh*

Another general question for the populace - has anyone burned this successfully with a program other than Imgburn? If I make another attempt I'd like to do so with a different program, on the theory that Imgburn has a problem with my drive or discs. Is there something about using Imgburn specifically that's necessary to get this to work, or do you just have to make sure that whatever you use doesn't change the layer break?

By the way - happy birthday Ady!

I checked through the last few weeks of postings, and don't see much detail about the burning process, though it seems to be a bit unconventional...

I downloaded the NTSC DVD-9 from Usenet, and the NFO file says that ImgBurn is included in the RAR (it's not), and to specifically to use this program to burn the disc. I downloaded the latest version of ImgBurn (2.4.1.0) to do the job. When I tried to burn the ISO file, I got the following message:

"Optimal L1 Data Zone Start LBA: None Found! (VTS_51)
This image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto a double layer (OTP Track Path) disc.
None of the cells meet the 'DVD-Video specification' criteria for a potential layer break position.
Do you want to continue anyway?"

I said yes, and it started to burn. I was never prompted with a checkbox about the layer break as the NFO describes. The thing burned all the way through with no error messages, but the result was a coaster which is not even recognizable in the drive. Can anyone shed any light?

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)

Hi all -

I've had fun reading this thread into the wee hours of the night... MagFan's edits are pretty cool, but I have to say I probably prefer ADigitalMan's subtitles for BOTF. Any chance someone has a DVDR copy of that version available? Yes, my PM's are on (that's private messages, not PMS...)
