Still prefer the Kylo crackle tbh
Still prefer the Kylo crackle tbh
We decided to use a different take of her saying it which imo makes it a lot better and believable.
I agree with you there, but you’d have to delete his line about not caring if the Resistance won, then. There’s no universe in which Hux doesn’t want the First Order to win.
Perhaps his hatred of him for killing his Papa Snoke was enough to want that haha. But you’re right, that’s the only line that is somewhat out of character.
EDIT: Realized it’s up to debate whether Hux thinks Kylo killed Snoke or not, but either way my point is that he hates Kylo.
I did have a thought though - what do people think about not having Hux as a spy? It massively contradicts with his borderline over-the-top Imperialism that we see in the other two movies. Surely, I can’t be the only one who thinks that it’s jarring to go from this guy to “I’M THE SPY!!!”
Regarding Hux - in my opinion it is in line with his character to betray Ren’s First Order if you simply delete Snoke assaulting him in TLJ (which I did in my personal version of Poppa’s Rekindled). It creates the impression that Snoke stoked his ego and treated him fairly, which contrasted significantly with Kylo choking him, flinging him around with the Force, and not even considering his opinions. With this one change, to me it makes sense that he would want to see Kylo’s Empire go up in flames so he can take control of it.
Hal, you aren’t planning to hide any subtle hints of Palpatine in TFA are you?
He already added Palpatine’s voice to the force vision. Not sure if he did anything else though.
Why do people forget that C-3PO told them where to stand?
What line does he say I honestly can’t remember. Either way, it is a kinda corny scene haha.
There’s gotta be somebody on this site with access to 4k Rogue One. Right?
Damn that looks really creepy and sinister. I love it. Really would blend in well with the rest of the shots as well.
This is the last post I’ll make about this I swear haha.
Anyways, I don’t think it’s important that the castle looks menacing. It’s not supposed to be in its prime. Here’s a terrible concept picture I made in 10 seconds on paint:

Yes, it appears that the shot is already reversed and inverted.
If anybody is still interested, I think a good first step in making the castle appear more abandoned is removing the glowing “windows” of lava on the front of the castle.
Otherwise, it’s probably best we halt discussion on Hal’s thread.
Fair enough. Using footage from other movies does sometimes make it feel a bit too fan-edity.
It’s crazy how many of these changes that we still needed are suddenly being finished! Great work everyone.
Whether using the one I suggested, or if someone else wants to put one together, I feel like you need an establishing shot of Vader’s castle.
+1
Oh no, I think you misunderstood me. I do want both to be in the edit, but I just don’t want Movies Remastered to have to do his work all over again 😃
It really depends on how ruined we want the castle to appear. Ideally, someone could add some cracks and small pieces missing of it in the TIE shot. That way the far away shot by Movies Remastered wouldn’t necessarily have to be changed.
Oh man I don’t remember seeing that shot of the ties in front of Vader’s castle that looks wonderful. We probably didn’t go with it because we didn’t want to reuse footage from another movie. I could look past that though. Although, I’m still of the opinion that the Battlefront footage doesn’t work unfortunately.
Yes I didn’t really know the proper terminology.
Hmmmm… well we could always pretend that’s another Jedi master of her species. But yes, it probably would be best to remove that.
Not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread before, but just a niggle regarding the Shaak Ti death. She does actually appear later on in the film during one of the Jedi Council scenes, though if I remember correctly it was in hologram form so it could be feasible to edit her out.
You might be thinking of Aayla Secura. I’ve personally never noticed her appearing anywhere else in the film.
I would assume the Knights are saying that they get his teeth when he’s dead. Obviously they hadn’t executed him yet.
I realize this is technically the wrong thread to ask this in, but since jonh just confirmed that the Hayden ghost is the only way to go for the Palpatine fight, why does Hal’s custom SE of Return of the Jedi still have Shaw?
^ and after the haircut is done, jonh plans on adding Anakin into the final shot with the Force ghosts on Tatooine 😄 the whole Skywalker Force ghost family will be together
My only problem with this is that Rey doesn’t know Anakin at all. Idk. Hal has the final word.
On another note, I’m not entirely sure what the new version contains compared to the one from August. It says it has like 500+ more MB of data but nothing changed drastically. Is this because of an AI upscale of the deleted scenes?
Just want to point out that there is a small audio issue on the latest version of the edit. Right before Palpatine says, “I need your help, son” there is a musical cue that begins to play, at least in the older version I have. However, this is missing in the latest version, making the jump between the deleted scene and the higher quality scene much more noticeable.
just came across this on reddit from a guy on YouTube named JXEditor, thoughts?
Palpatine’s line sounds incredible. It would be a shame not to include it. Not so sure about Kylo though. The voice actor says the word “clone” too quiet.
97% sure deleted scenes will never be released. They have other things they could release that would make people even happier, yet they’re not doing it… so I just feel like it’ll never happen.
It’s just a shame that all of that work went into the Mustafar deleted sequence. The amount of puppetry involved in the Eye of Webish Bog…
