STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time
A couple of FX changes that I thought of that I haven’t seen mentioned yet:

1) When Luke severs the arm of the Wampa and the beast roars in pain it would be nice if the blackened hole in his shoulder smoldered a little, with those little crispy embers like on the prequels. Always liked those… (Also when Han cuts open the tamtam, when Vader cuts the set up at the end, and other lightsaber damage)

2) After Luke gets his hand cut off and falls down the chute and hangs upside down over the bottomless pit it is obvious he’s holding his hand in his sleeve. Maybe Adywan could edit this to make it a little more believable…

3) Makes the X wing drip water after it is transferred to an FX shot like the prop lifted out of the swamp.

4) Correct the see-through cockpits during the battle of Hoth (probably one of the first things Adywan did). The same with the asteroids.

5) Do something—anything!—with those terrible looking “minocks” inside the worms stomach. Those things look horrible.

Dear Adywan,

Why don't you just cut the scene with the severed hand out completely. The scene could proceed with Obi-Wan wielding his light-saber, cutting, screams, commotion, and alien groaning as Obi-Wan eyes everyone in the room. It is self explanatory, and easier to edit. We have enough hands being cut off to say the least.

Anyway, great work on the edit.

You have a point there Adywan. Perhaps I was responding to certain re-edit attempts which wish to remove all sense of bofoonery from the Star Wars films. I personally like the speeder almost crashing into the Rontos, it shows Mos Eisley is not only dangerous but chaotic, since it is somewhat based on 3rd world cities, which have notoriously chaotic traffic and marketplaces. But I must admit that those 3 stooges droids in Phantom Menace should be incinerated, and as much of Jar-Jar removed as possible.

"Robot slapstick = not humorous"

Cheesy comedy--including robot slapstick--is all throughout Star Wars; shall we eliminate it all? I think that keeping the series consistant is in order, and there is a certain childlike quality to its cheesy, light-hearted humor. That is unless we wish to digitally remove all of the ewoks and jar-jar esque creatures so that a bunch of fan-boys can pretend that Star Wars isn't cheesy. Celebrate its cheesy-ness I say.

Greetings all,

The only changes listed that I didn't like were:

41. Mos eisley approach re-edited. Removed some of the creatures on the first shot & completely removed the Ronto/ Jawa sequence.
42. Removed both Rontos from the checkpoint scene.
43. Removed the probe droid from this scene also.

I don't mind a little humor. Just so that it doesn't saturate the film.
