Please check your DM because I sent you the audio for that scan. It’s the speech bubble at the top of the page next to your avatar image.

It is not Team Negative One’s scan. They were given it to work on but they never made the release from which you got it. I won’t go into the internal details, but it was an English language print and the restored scan you have had both optical audio and cinema DTS synced to it already in English. Somebody removed it and uploaded it with foreign audio. I’ve sent you a link to the audio so you can download it and sync it.

That said, the scan is old. It was done in 2014. The newer scans will blow that one out of the water in terms of quality.

Thank you so much! This really is an easier way to make the scan. You have helped me a lot, because the audio that I was using wasn’t the best (but still watchable). Thank you for your help, you are a really nice guy.

PS. I cant wait to hear the new audio. Sounds exciting!

A new year, a new Jurassic Park Scan! This Jurassic Park scan will be a free for all scan, meaning that anybody and everybody can watch it for free! It uses the new Jurassic Park audio in perfect sync with a (muted) french scan. Experience the colors, grain, and open matte of the original Jurassic Park as seen in theaters in 1993.

I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but you don’t have a French scan. What you have is this scan with the English audio removed and the French audio synced by someone and uploaded somewhere. I’d have to check how the scan was paid for, but the guy that loaned the print for the scan doesn’t mind if you have a copy so if you want the original Prores just say and we may be able to give it to you.

That said, the colours are not right at all because the scanner used had limited dynamic range. No amount of colour correction will make it as good as the newer scans that are currently being done or worked on. It’s not actually a 4K scan either, it’s Bayer UHD … which is fine for 1080p finishing, but there’s a lot of detail lost. Don’t get me wrong, for 2015 the quality was acceptable.

Anyway, I remember someone uploading the scan somewhere with French audio synced a few years ago (a French blog I think), so I’m 99% sure that’s what you have.

I am very sorry. I really did not know that this was Team Negative One’s scan with french audio synced. I found it floating around on archive. I was under the impression that everything on archive was in the public domain. It was under the title “coupon day”. They took it off archive for some reason. If I am doing copyright infringement, please tell me, because I was not aware that this was TN1’s. As I said, it really was a misunderstanding if I took TN1’s scan. I’ve never seen it. If it is TN1’s scan, I will cancel the project. I can look at a few photos from TN1’s scan just so to be sure. Maybe they took it off of archive because it was TN1’s scan. Again, if that’s the case, I’ll cancel this project immediately.

Hi, everyone. Sorry that I haven’t sent any progress so far. I just wanted to tell everybody that the video editing is coming on. A lot of progress has been made. There are sadly one or two bugs. They include a few still frames. They’re only noticeable once or twice during the film, but they’re there. Just wanted to update you guys. If this is a huge dealbreaker, let me know, I can get the short clip on YouTube and just paste them into the film. When I post the first clip on YouTube, I’ll send the link, and you can comment on this page about the still frames. It should be done any day now. Goodbye, be back with more info soon.

Any chance you’ll scan the sequels after you finish this project???

Unfortunately not. I didn’t exactly scan the film. I took a french scan that was in the public domain and then I synced the english audio from the newer copies. This was the only reason I could make this scan a free for all. If I had to buy a print and scan it, it would have cost me a lot of money, and then people would have to pay to watch mine. My mission was to make the original (emphasis on original) Jurassic Park available to the entire world, and not just the few that are interested in this project. As John Hammond once said: “This park isn’t only for the super rich. Everybody in the world has the right to see these animals.”

There is no way whatever the French scan of the film is is in public domain. If your plan is still to post this whole film directly on Youtube I can’t see it working. (On a side note, some people pledge $3-$5 for scan projects so it’s not really like they are locked in to the super rich only. That said I get the idea of wanting everyone to see a scan, but I don’t think you can really do that necessarily.)

I didn’t really mean the super rich. I just wanted to quote John Hammond. What I actually meant is that this film scan is available for anyone.

I highly recommend reading the book. It’s funny, but John Hammond is the opposite and basically tells everyone that poor people can go to hell. Super quick read, definitely worth the time if you’re a fan of the film!

Already read it. Very good book.

Okay, sorry. I didn’t exactly have this information. But I just have a question. If I create a Youtube playlist and I put little cutscenes in the correct order so that they form an entire movie, would it be okay to put it on youtube?

If I didn’t explain myself correctly, this is what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJmqgRicoDU&list=PLab2BAq3q3ukbYOuNmRC9a87NFyRnLjhD&index=1

STAR WARS THEATRICAL EDITION HD

HD also = 1080 or even 2K

I don’t see how you can upload it to Youtube, it would get copyright strike right away.

My idea is to make a playlist with all the scenes. Somebody did that with Jurassic Park a few years ago, and it still hasn’t been deleted, so I guess it’s legal. In a playlist, the scenes start playing automatically. There will be some minor interruptions (Adds, loading the next video.), but you willl be able to watch it for free, without grain or burn.

Plus, as an added bonus, here’s the Jurassic Park they put on youtube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJmqgRicoDU&list=PLab2BAq3q3ukbYOuNmRC9a87NFyRnLjhD&index=1

STAR WARS THEATRICAL EDITION HD

The problem with most new 35/16mm copies are that you have to pay to watch them. This one will be available freely to anybody who can access Youtube. It also will not take as long, because there’s no hassle of scanning the original prints. This copy will also cost nothing to create. You can get 5 minute scenes on YouTube for free and then just replace the changed shots with an original print. I’m almost finished with the scene on the Tantive IV.

PS. HD=720p

STAR WARS THEATRICAL EDITION HD
Time

Since 1997, people have wanted STAR WARS re-released in it’s original format. Everyone here can agree that the 1997 Jabba the Hutt looked atrocious, right? Well, you’re not the only ones who think so. That’s why I am proposing to create an original copy of STAR WARS, completely unaltered except for color correction, in HD! I can do this by taking the 2011 Blu-ray copy and then adding parts of the original cut and putting them into the Blu-ray at parts where the 2011 editions differ with the original cut. That way we can all enjoy STAR WARS as it was in HD, without downloading a 21GB file!

Preservation of 35mm Japanese kids films
Time

I love the amazing works of studio Ghibli. They have always filled me with wonder and excitement. I am now proposing that we make a preservation society for Studio Ghibli and other Japanese kids films.

Our preservation works must include:

Nausicaa of the valley of the wind
My Neighbour Totoro
Kiki’s delivery service
Spirited Away
Howl’s moving castle
Ponyo
Arrietty
The great mission to save princess peach (1986)
Naruto

The easiest places to get these films are archive.org and youtube.com. Please support me by getting me clips from these movies so I can put them with the other copy.

Feel free to ask about other Japanese kids films you want to preserve and I’ll consider putting them on the list.

The Lost World Jurassic Park Theatrical Recreation Project
Time

Hello. I need everybody’s support. I am trying to create an original 35mm version of The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

I would like to get support (not funding, but extra videos), so I can create an original version of The Lost World that everybody else can watch for free. Everybody that can help me piece together these videos to make a full feature film will get a first-hand look at the videos at an online showing. Here’s what needs to be done:

Get enough clips to fill the entire film.

Find deleted scenes.

Our primary goal: To make the Jurassic Park movies great again, and to let everybody be ale to watch these great films in their original 35mm form (with deleted scenes just for some extra fun)!
