OK, thanks for the response. I guess I'm not clear on when they're needed- Episode III was perfect for me as far as I could tell, but there were pars. On this one, I know I have some incomplete files.

I can see not wanting to add on the overhead of the redundant pars, but would you consider submitting either the main par2 file or an sfv so we can tell which files might have been corrupt?

The LP (at least the version I have- not sure if there are multiple versions) does not have the Fox fanfare. The Polydor release follows the same sequence as the LP. Both have the main cantina song, neither has the second song, which was first released on the anthology.

Edit- I see that Marvel2112 posted while I was composing mine.

if you get corrupted files, its not because the file is actually corrupted. Try downloading again. I also should warn hat if you're trying to download things with third party programs rather than simply right clicking and downloading, It doesn't always work and you will get corrupted files.

GM, I also have experienced corruption with this track within this file, which I have downloaded a total of four times now. Is there any chance that this one didn't get cleaned up the other day? Or, is it perhaps something that certain archivers perceive as corrupt? I've used Newztools and WinRAR.

I don't quite follow all that happened, but I recall that you said earlier that the ban was one week. Is it indefinite now? I'll miss him around the SW forums, but those relying on him for The Thief and the Cobbler would really miss out if he couldn't come back.

In Grabit you need to make sure that the red "page" icon is clicked. When you first install, it's not. (The help bubble is, "Push this button to show unmarked items that contain multiple articles which are not all present on the news server.") Also, I've had problems doing incrementals that miss content- this can be corrected with a full update.

Finally, if a par2 file has known missing parts (as opposed to bad parts only found when decoded), you have to remove the [Incomplete Grab] part of the filename that GrabIt puts in there, at least for QuickPar to recognize the par. You do not have to remove the [Incomplete Grab] for the actual content files.

Last time I tried Agent (free or trial of full) it didn't do multiple connections per server; does it now? GrabIt does do multiple connections. It isn't as slick as Newsleecher, but it is free.

Thanks very much! I ended up kludging together some donut-less versions using the jpg version in powerpoint (GASP!) by splicing in part of the cover. I was in a hurry, or I would have used the GIMP. It wasn't perfect, especially ESB since the logo gets in the way. It jumps right out on the screen but is much less noticable on the printed DVD, and far less objectionable than the white donut would be. But, the next time I make a set, it'll be better thanks to you!

I'm also not seeing Darkside of OZ show up, in a.b.dvd or several other dvd groups I've been checking. Just FYI.

The Skywalker Legacy (working title) (* unfinished project *)

This is a really great idea- I'm looking forward to it!

I had previously thought that it would be interesting to watch the series starting with IV and continuing through the death of Yoda and the conversation with Obi-Wan in VI, after which the entire PT is watched as a flashback, finally resuming with the end of VI. I was thinking this because it brings in the prequels at the point when Luke learns the full truth, and also the fall of Anakin and the rise of the Emperor are still very fresh when Vader redeems himself. But your approach is much cooler, and avoids the full 7 hour flashback!

Happy late birthday!

I've had a slight problem with the EditDroid ESB that I'm hoping somebody can help me with. My pars check out fine, and I can extract the ISO. But when I compare the file structure against the SFV that Darth Mallwalker posted, the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP don't check out. I've deleted and re-built the ISO, and I still get the same problem.

I've fixed it by loading up the torrent to get the IFO, and it works now, so I don't need a repost. I'm just curious if anyone knows what else to do in this case? I didn't download all of the pars because QuickPar claimed it had enough; would that have helped? Or is there a way to localize a file to a particular rar so that I can reload just it?

Thanks!

The same thing happened to me- just doing incrementals skipped a few messages, and then doing a full update got the whole thing. I'm using GrabIt; if you are too, it may be a problem with the software, otherwise I guess it may be a Usenet thing. In any case, this looks like an important tip for us all to remember to help out people who have the problem in the future.

(And unfortunately I didn't download the montage and it's not still on my server, so I can't help with the missing parts.)

And to pass on another very embarrassing lesson I just learned, perhaps one should also (at least if using GrabIt) do a full update on the group rather than just incremental if it seems some posts in the middle are missing. I had done just incremental, and they definitely didn't show up, and then when I started downloading the fills I did a full, and the original messages were in fact there.

Segaflip,

Thanks very much for your work with these! I have an ESB fill request that hopefully isn't too big. (If it is, I'll see if the par2's don't do the trick (they're all present), and if they don't I'll either get them from the torrent or maybe bite the bullet and subscribe to giganews at least for fills.)

I'm missing parts 38-42, 59-61, and 63-65 (these are the rars ending in .r33-.r37, .r54-.r56, and .r58-.r60). There may be others who need these same volumes, as I'm on a major US ISP. I would have thought that with three servers farms across the country I could get them all as long as I stayed on top of it and didn't let them expire, but no such luck- Ep IV was entirely on one farm and mostly on another, which made for great speed, while Ep V is largely on one but hardly showing up on the other. And the third farm is a lost cause- almost every single message is incomplete!

Thanks!

P.S. Nice avatar!

To pick a nit, the line, "My God, it's full of stars!" is not in 2001, and therefore not in Kubrick. There is no dialog after Dave deactivates HAL. The line was introduced in 2010.

Music is about the only thing I need that I don't have right now.

I have the original Polydor soundtrack of ANH, the Anthology Box Set, and the 1997 Special Edition releases. (I don't have the newest versions released last fall. I think they're the same tracks as the 1997, but a separate mix.) I've ripped them all at 192kbps (pretty sure that's what I chose).
