Hi everyone! I’m glad to have found this place.

I’m an OT fan from childhood, as I’m guessing most people here are. I saw the original release of episode 4 in the movie theatre when I was about 6 years old, and it’s safe to say that experience shaped the direction of the rest of my life. I work in film and TV, most recently doing post production though I’ve touched on a number of different jobs over the years.

What brought me here apart from the obvious is some experimentation I’ve been doing recently with frame rate conversion, attempting to generate high quality intermediate frames to bring 24 FPS footage up to 48, 72 or more. I’m finding that tests I’m trying with DVD footage isn’t giving me the best picture to start from, so I’m in search of better clips. The 4K77 project sounds like it may be of an archival quality that would fit the bill, so I’m hoping to discuss further with members of that team.

That said, I don’t want to just be some guy asking for footage and then taking off. It seems like there are a lot of really experienced post artists on here and I’d love to connect with them to get a better understanding of their archiving work and hopefully contribute what I can as well.
