I can’t see any way to make a complete removal of the factory scene feel seamless. A Dooku VO would not be enough, a real version of the movie just wouldn’t handle the transition that way. It would establish Dooku finding out about Anakin and Padme, and then it would show Anakin and Padme being apprehended and taken to Dooku. Unless there are deleted scenes somewhere that show this, it just won’t feel like an official edit if we jump straight to Padme talking with Dooku.

Honestly, I think the rest of this edit improves AotC so drastically that it can afford to have a single, trimmed down less-than-stellar scene for the sake of feeling like an official movie edit.

I mean, to be fair, Padme said that she wanted a diplomatic solution to the situation. Therefore, it makes sense that they could simply walk in to talk with Dooku without any real confrontation. The reason Obi-Wan was apprehended was because he was sneaking around and sending messages via his ship.

Why wouldn’t they just come in the front entrance then? I think the preceding scene implies that they are looking for an discreet entrance to sneak in.

Fair point. Honestly, I really just dislike the droid factory scene for a bunch of reasons. The first being the R2 and C3PO shenanigans, the second being that Anakin’s lightsaber is destroyed (it devalues the lightsaber we see later on in the saga), and also that Anakin’s cloak obviously gets caught on his lightsaber during the action.

Anakin still loses his lightsaber either way. Either it gets destroyed or Count Dooku takes it and never gives it back.

The only thing is that it isn’t shown on screen that Count Dooku is the one who takes his lightsaber or that he even keeps it. It can easily be assumed that somebody stashes it somewhere on Geonosis and then Anakin gets it back after the battle.
I’m definitely an advocate for this scene being included though as long as those bits I mentioned earlier were to be excluded.

Info: When will we see a fan edit of episode 4 that includes the SC 38 reimagined fight scene from FXitinPost?
Time

My computer is currently out of commission until the end of this month. Once that’s over with, I’m planning on screen recording my DVD copy of Adywan’s A New Hope and then editing this scene in. I’m also planning on adding back in the Luke and Leia grapple scene (since that was removed with FX’s scene for some reason). I’m sure somebody else will probably have this done by then, but I’m still planning on doing it.

The Force Awakens: Starlight (V1.1 Released!)
Time

This is the title crawl I am planning on using for my own personal edit. Thought maybe somebody would be interested.

The NEW REPUBLIC is in turmoil. The Jedi Order has collapsed from the inside, and Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master
and guardian of galactic peace, has vanished.

In his absence, the remnants of the Empire have rallied in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy under the
guise of the sinister FIRST ORDER, led by an ancient and mysterious dark lord.

The Senate refuses to create another Army of the Republic to counter the growing threat. In order to prevent the destruction of the New Republic and find her lost brother, General Leia Organa leads an independent RESISTANCE and sends her most daring pilot on a critical mission to Jakku. . . .

The Last Jedi: Legendary (Released)
Time

I posted this on the Reddit topic, but I’ll post it here, too:
Could you please add in the deleted scene of Rey and the “pirate raiding party” directly after Luke talks about the errors of the Jedi? It really allows us to see a valuable lesson and Luke’s perspective on the Jedi better. To make room for it, completely remove the scene of the kids at the end of the movie. They aren’t even seen at all since Kanto Bight has been mostly removed. I understand that scene tells us that Luke has inspired others around the galaxy, but it isn’t necessary. Episode 9 will most likely already show this. And this trilogy should be about the main cast, not some random kids. The scene felt completely out of place and unsatisfactory.
