THE OT SOUNDTRACKS SALVAGE - SWESBROTJ -"remastered"(so far)+ LP's (Released)
Time

I got these and let me say: absolutely superb sets. I've always liked music from these movies a lot, and this is an absolutely fabulous set. I was hearing instruments in the music I hadn't noticed before, which gave me a better feel for what John Williams was trying to convey with it in the movie. I even set up my Anthology wet where I could listen to one track off the CD, then one track from this set, and this set blew it away. Granted, I haven't listened to all of it (there is a ton of music here), but everything I have heard is better than anything i've heard before.

Kudos to you ABC, for putting together and cleaning up a great set! I'll be enjoying this for quite some time.

The newest Anchorbay one.

That's the shot from my DVD. It comes with three disks: A widescreen disk, a fullscreen disk, and a bonus disk. As for the lightning scene:

I did check with the Elite DVD, that shot of Cheryl has the "camera" advance on her face, resulting in the off framing. It looks more like they added that close up to make the scene scarier.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

For me, the flipper shot is fine. I never really understood the wolfman arm, mainly because neither character their would really have one (unless you read into the EU, which states Ponda Baba is cobbled together like Frankenstein's creature). I don't really see the problem with it. It's a quick bar scuffle, it's hard to tell whats going on during, but as we pull back, we see someone has lost a piece of himself and is screaming. We don't need to really see that it's a hand, just that there is a bit of one of them on the floor, and they aren't fighting anymore.
As for where GL is, I'm pretty sure that Lucas is circa 1977 (am I wrong Adywan?), and he is definitely not wearing his usual garb (plaid shirt and jeans). It's also not easy to see the glasses (if he is in fact wearing them). I figured there were only a few places adywan could have put him, and I found him pretty quick.

I'd like to throw my hat in as another person saying great job. I just popped the Special Edition DVD in and wow, looking at these things side to side, there is no comparison as to which one is superior. The battle sequence 9along with pretty much everything else in the movie) at the end is amazing.
I think I did find George, and what appears to be someone else who wasn't there in the original shot (I can only assume who it could be ).
All in all, fantastic job, you deserve a long rest, and thanks for your very hard work in making this.

Ok, so I've looked through practically every CD/DVD I have of data and still can't find the InfoDroid clip. I did however find pretty much every single clip Adywan has posted here, as well as an assortment of other crazy stuff I have collected through the years. I'll still keep an eye out for the clip, it might be on a disk in my basement, buried under Christmas decorations.

I never got to see your lightsaber footage Infodroid, i would love to see this. hopefully someone still has a copy that they could upload it for me.

I'm still looking for this. Unfortunately, I have tons of DVDs full of crap, and when I label them, I put things like "Star Wars Stuff" on it thinking "Oh yeah, i'll remember what i mean by this."

To all the people complaining about how loud the music is. Adywan has stated that it is a **temporary** soundtrack!!!! Does it make any sense to complain or even comment about something that was just put there to fill a gap for now?

I think what frendon meant (and what I meant) when commenting on how loud it was wasn't the actual volume of the music. I certainly understand that this is a temporary track and the score will change. I think the music is loud in the sense that there is a lot of stuff going on - instruments, strings and horns, along with a choir. As frendon said:

I would like it if it were just an instrumental version and a little more subtle

But as said before, there is no instrumental and subtle version of this that would really fit there. I do like it the way Adywan has it, but if there were a way to get what frendon said, I think it would work as well.

Now THERE'S a fan edit just waiting to be made!

Gungan: Issa weesa gonna be blowin' up da Death Star?
Ewok: Yub nub!

And so, the Rebellion was crushed in one swift move, due to the fact that the Ewoks tried to launch their starships into space with slingshots and kept crashing back into Yavin IV, while the Gungans, being stupid in their nature kept running into each other, dooming what little chance they had of stopping the empire.

Frendon: I agree with you on the loudness idea. Not that it's loud as in this sound sample isn't done being mixed, but i get where you're coming from. When I said that that John Williams would put in a bit of the battle of heroes music, I meant what you are saying. It wouldn't be an exact copy of the music, but enough to tug at our minds saying "This is it for one of them, and you should remember the last fight they were in". Problem is like Adywan has expressed, thats really the only bit of music that works, and personnally I would prefer it in the movie than not.

First off Adywan, your clips always get me back in the mood to watch Star Wars. I'm always disappointed when they finish because I just want more.
Second. The music. A while ago (it might have been in this thread, i'm just too lazy to check) someone posted a clip of the battle between Darth and Obi-Wan with the Battle of Heroes music, and thought it was great, and still think that. Here's the way I see it: Back in 77 when Williams was scoring the movie, Star Wars was a very different movie. Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker to him and the audience were two different people. Vader was simply a bad guy, albiet a really cool one. There was no conflict of good in him. When it came time to score that scene, there was no reason to make it that emotional up until Obi-Wan dies. Fast forward to today, we have five more Star Wars movies, three of them devoted to the lives and relationships of those two people fighting. We are now emotionally invested in these two characters, knowing they had a teacher/student relationship, father/son-type relationship and a brother-brother relationship. If we watch the movies as a whole, that duel on the Death Star is missing something. It is the final battle between these two former friends, and there is no music at all just an old man and a machine. I personally believe that if A New Hope was made today Williams would put in a Battle of the Heroes bit of music in that scene. Sure, back when it came out it was devoid of music for a reason, however, today there are very good reasons for putting music in that scene.
Plus, this is Adywans edit, he can do whatever he wants. If he wants to replace all of the actors with Ewoks (or Gungans for that matter), then that's his perogative. Granted that would be a terrible perogative. We'd hunt him down and break his legs.

I also agree on the Grim Fandango movie idea. There were rumors about Tim Burton doing one in the style of Nightmarebefore Christmas/Corpse Bride, however those came up a big negative. Had me very disappointed.
There was a longplay "movie" of Full Throttle where someone played through the game and then cut what he captured into a feature length movie. Unfortunately he left out a bunch of major plot points which made the whole thing just plain confusing (at least to me).

Hey Adywan,

You might try these for star trek episodes: http://www.amazon.com/STAR-TREKS-GREATEST-EXPLOSIONS/lm/1RQ1I7AJHL6LO

I figure starting with a list called "Star Trek's Greatest explosions" couldn't hurt

As for Star Trek stuff, are you just looking for Starship explosions in general or something specific? I have all of the Star Trek DVDs and could probably help you narrow the search a little bit.

I agree with Sluggo. Don't let this guy get you down. He makes it sound like once you release this it will become the definitive Star Wars movie (And while that would be awesome for any editor on this board, it probably isn't going to happen). If he is so upset about this one, why isn't he upset about every single fan edit out there? Sure, I've thought about it, and on a board where people are striving to get a good release of the original trilogy, they are excited about a Special Updated Edition with all new effects, it may seem strange, but who cares? It looks good. This seems to be a "Special Edition Done Right". Instead of an orgy of all-new special effects, it fixes the problems with the movie.
You shouldn't stop making this. A lot of stuff from here ends up on Ebay, just ask Jambe Davdar, or anyone who's ever release a Holiday Special disk. They all seem fine. Besides, I think it's safe to say we all legally own a copy of Star Wars (I have at least seven). Plus, some members here have patrolled ebay for people selling other edits and reported them. I think you'd ok.

First off: fantastic job on this. Totally awesome, and can't wait to see more of your stuff come out (not pushing you into it, you deserve a huge break). I especially loved the lightsaber; behind the scenes stuff is one thing, but to have something that's never really been shown anywhere else, that's awesome.

Second:
Andy: Back on page 38 h0rnytoad had the same problem, and as luck would have it, I had that problem too. The IFO's have the movie set as automatic pan and scan on a 4:3 display. Try the Reverend Beastly's suggestion first. If it works, great. If not, back up the original to disk and then get a program like pgcedit and change the IFOs. It's not that big a deal really, just a check box.

I know you've already said you are going to continue with this, but let me throw my support in to further solidify your decision: This project is great. There is a lot of stuff in this I have never seen or even heard of (like the Ki-Adi Mundi secondary plot during the big droid battle near the end). I am a "Behind the Scenes Junkie"; I love this kind of stuff. Good work, and I anxiously await anything else you may have for us.
